Should be a good game. Auckland looking to avoid relegation and Tasman trying to make the semis. Im glad they havent tried to shoehorn Moala into the backs. Auckland is seriously low on locks.

Makos Team: Will Jordan, Tima Faingaanuku, Levi Aumua, Trael Joass, James Lowe, Mitch Hunt, Billy Guyton; Jordan Taufua, Vernon Fredericks, Ethan Blackadder, Pari Pari Parkinson, Shannon Frizell, Tyrel Lomax, Andrew Makalio, Tim Perry.

Reserves: Ti'i Paulo, Siua Halanukonuka, Isaac Salmon, Alex Ainley, Pete Samu, Finlay Christie, Tim O'Malley, James Hawkey.

Aumua back from suspension, Fredericks back from injury - as is Ainley (named on the bench).

Fourth game in 15 days for Tasman - might be a bridge too far.

It's also likely to be pretty wet at least underfoot. It's raining steadily here and not supposed to stop for a couple of days.

Tim

I'm still surprised to read that George Moala had gout.

Tim

@mimic I thought that was a disease of old age and poor diet.

It's quite common amongst islanders (I think it's genetic), mainly due to our diet. Different foods trigger it for different people that I know. One of my mates had to give up doing calf raises or any exercises that put pressure on the joint cos it could trigger an attack lol

I think that's a bit of a myth. I sometimes get it from eating rich foods/too much seafood. I think it is a genetic thing because my dad and uncles do too.

As for Moala, as far as i know a lot of pacific islanders get it. Probably due to genetics.

Bloody painful.

Edit: beat me to it.

Tim

Cheers dudes, I'll look into the literature.

pukunui

It's basically excess Uric acid forming crystals within joints (often in your foot).
My last severe bout was after eating Beef cheeks slow cooked in guinness, a pile of smoked mussels and cheese and a few glasses of wine straight after a flight. Pretty much the perfect storm. Felt like I had a nail driven through the middle of my foot for a week.

Bones

@pukunui that's a like just for the epic gluttony.

I’ve heard it refered to as ‘Samoan cancer’. I know a number of Samoans that suffer from it. It can be managed through dietary choices.

The turf in Nelson; no drainage?

KiwiMurph

Nelson need to sort out this shithouse field if they are hosting an ABs game.

Will Jordan looks every inch a future AB.

Tim

Yep, appalling poor ground for 1st class rugby.

Jordan certainly looks classy.

KiwiMurph

Territory very important - Auckland are gonna struggle when they have garbage halves - Elkington-Macdonald is some shithouse player

Chris B.

You whinging Auckland feckers.

Traf. Park is usually excellent. It's been pissing with non-stop rain for the past two days.

Tim

@chris-b It's thoroughly shit. A disgrace.

And most obvious reply of the day goes to...

KiwiMurph

Haha if that doesnt sum up Auckland's season - Auckland steal the lineout and Tasman score!
