Gunner

Old mate Apisai with two bad throws in a row. The blues jumper was much higher than the opposite both times but he didn’t throw the thing high enough. Not good enough when you’re throwing to 2.

Siam

This blues rubbish can't be all laid at Umagas feet as has been the theme here the last 2 months from hapless blues fans

Discipline, decision making and concerted effort and hunger are players responsibilities too

A dysfunctional club and has been for some time now

taniwharugby

Apisai had a stormer for the B team last week!!

African Monkey

@siam Ok we'll lay 90% of it on him then with his shit signings and shit selections.

He picks the players and sets the culture. They've gotten worse on his watch.

Tana has to go.

taniwharugby

some refs woulda called that advantage over...

Dice

Jaguares playing with 16 players with Apisai out there.

Tana will say how proud he is of the effort and can see where they're improving in interview - you heard it here first

Bovidae

Apisai and Pulu made quite the impact - not!

African Monkey

@damo Love it when non-Blues fans come on here trying to defend the guy who's well out of his depth. He's been a disaster this season.

Dice

Our leaders are basically all out of form. So tough to build a culture when that is happening.

kiwiinmelb

How much lower can you go ?

Bloody hell

Parsons interview is a disgrace.

Duluth

I'm just going to paraphrase Redman from earlier this week:

Progress is being made. The players are 'growing'.

We don't want to make drastic changes and throw out all of that progress.

Gunner

These guys are just bloody awful.

Cut them and create a new team based in Albany/Whangarei 🤣

Stargazer

Yes, the Blues were awful, but I think we need to give credit to the Jaguares as well. They were the better team and played to the conditions well. They fully deserved that win. If they'd converted their penalties into points, they would have denied the Blues the bonus point.

They're growing in their struggle against reality

No James, your part of the bloody issue, your leadership is crap..!,where did you lose the game James,we lost it in the 1-5 jerseys,no you did’nt ,you lost by not playing field position you twat..!

Donsteppa

Very little will change while Redman is in charge.

KiwiMurph

It says a lot that the Blues dont even recognise why they are losing.

That says a lot.

Glad I didnt watch.

If this is his idea of progress then I'd say this is one situation where you absolutely have to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Bloody hell that was excruciating to watch.

Siam

@african-monkey No one's defending anyone.

The truth is your shit club has been a fucking disgrace for many years now, long before umaga.

Fans continue to point with veracity always at 1 or 2 individuals as if that magic will fix it.

Highlanders were down a decade ago and pulled themselves out of it through genuine humility and change. The blues just lurch from new supercoach to fingerpointing.

Rinse and repeat

ACT Crusader

Well done to the Blues for getting the losing bonus point. Weather conditions kept them in it.

Pulu’s play seemed a step down from Ruru’s.

Whilst not a great game for wide play, the backline combination for the Blues seemed non-existent. Whereas the Jags backs with limited opportunities did combine well.

Tana is either experimenting or has lost the plot on selections.

Haha said by no one who actually watched that game.

PN

Can all the blame be placed on the Coach? What about the coach before him? Or Before him?

Even if those coaches are all incompetent, why were they placed into the position? Do they simply interview well?

At what point will everyone look to place blame higher up? Surely Auckland have the $$ for a proven coach?

My 2c..

nzzp

Well, in the first half I felt a bit guilty about not heading down in the farking terrible weather. But then the Blues lost the Blues way - shit skills, terrible set piece, tactical ineptitude and just all round shitness.

Positives:
only 7 games left in the season.

Fark me, if this season doesn't drive a full blown cleanout in the organisation, I don't know what will. Coach must take responsibiltiy for the team being prepared for lineouts and scrums, and having some tactics that get followed. Effort was there at times, but it's just disjointed, and opposition just wait for us to fark up and then kill us. Damnit.

And they got out of it with a competent coach that set the culture, selected smartly and got the most out of their players.

Tana has taken an average side that lost some close games and turned them into a joke.

I think if it was dry, the Blues defence would’ve been cut to pieces and the score would’ve been worse for them. That try the Jags scored down the left wing showed how poorly organised in defence they were (are).

African Monkey

@siam We'll moan at whatever the fuck we want until things change we have every right to we don't need some anti-Auckland Highlanders fan telling us what we should and shouldn't moan at. Umaga is failing to deliver after 3 years in change and we're not happy.

@pn I actually agree with you,we heard the message that obviously came from the coaches at halftime, when a game plan is not followed it brings into question leadership..and on that count,it was there for everybody to see

Gunner

Blues need to buy in a hardened career coach who has had to work his arse off for any success he’s ever had. I don’t know who that is, but get them and pay them what ever the hell they want.

Not a name.

Tana is a reason we're losing, but he is far from the only reason. Changing him won't fix our problems. There is a shitload of change needed.

What shits me more than anything, is when we started going downhill, there was an outpouring from ex players and supporters to help and stem the tide. That goodwill has been killed off, and we're left with an absolute farking wreck of a team and organisation.

We have been calling for the CEO and the board to go as well. They are the ones hiring celebrity coaches woefully out of their depth.

But that doesn’t excuse Tana’s crap selections, recruitment or coaching.

Siam

@kirwan No it started higher up in the organisation than that, and was most certainly not a magic fix of new coach, new dynasty

Coaches that succeed quickly, usually have a solid back office to work with.

See my post above.

The celebrity coaches are definitely a symptom of a bigger problem. That’s why we are talking about people like Gatland that can bully useless CEOs who want to hang out with ex-All Blacks.

Yeah, fair enough mate, keep pissing and moaning. Fill yer boots. I mean it's worked well for 5 years now
