Duluth

Chase Tiatia, Wes Goosen, Matt Proctor, Ngani Laumape, Ben Lam, Fletcher Smith, TJ Perenara (c), Reed Prinsep, Du'Plessis Kirifi, Vaea Fifita, Liam Mitchell, James Blackwell, Ben May, Ricky Riccitelli, Fraser Armstrong

Reserves: Asafo Aumua, Xavier Numia, Jeff To'omaga-Allen, Isaia Walker-Leawere, Sam Henwood, Richard Judd, James Marshall, Billy Proctor

Stargazer

@Duluth It's a pity they don't use this game to give Aumua and Walker-Leawere a start. I'd also have picked Marshall ahead of Tiatia, although it's his first game back from injury.

No Quarter

After having a great old time laughing at the Chiefs and Tahs we decide to rest our best against what is obviously a decent Sunwolves side. Sheesh.

I must admit I’m quite concerned by what the Sunwolves can do that said it would’ve been a perfect opportunity to start our reserves as said before they need game time not 20 mins here and there.

@Stargazer As well as it being his first SR game for a fair few years, he also covers 10 and 15 from the bench I guess

Stargazer

@Machpants He played and got injured in the Hurricanes' game against the Waratahs, but yes, very little SR in recent years.

@Daffy-Jaffy oh why oh why (apart from Japan refusing to pay for it) did Stupid SANZAAR drop the sunwolves, look at that team doing so much for Japanese rugby....

Tim

Is Little injured?

Notable starters:
Fidow, Cridge & Umaga Jensen back from injury.
Bedwell Curtis to captain the side and Tim
Farrell to make his long awaited return to rugby.

Hopefully none of thje first three named do not resume using their normal place at the head of the "unavailable for selection because of injury" list at the conclusion of the fixture.

Canes4life

Does anyone know a streaming sight for this match? I am in Bali for a couple of weeks so it will be good to chuck it on...

Canes4life

Any free trials on that?

Tim

@Canes4life Don't think so.

Reddit might have some ideas.

Canes4life

@Tim Can you watch delayed coverage on RugbyPass? Might be worth getting if I can watch the game later on tonight.

Canes4life

Sweet as. Cheers @Tim

Higgins

Did that lineout throw look down the red side?

Higgins

Some nice running in the resultant try though, aided by a bit of wrongfooting of the defenders not helping.

Stargazer

I hope the Canes are not going to regret resting three of their ABs in addition to Coles, esp Savea.

Higgins

Fletcher Smith seems to make more distance vertically than horizontally with his kicks so far. Tha Hurricanes are not playing well at the moment.

Canes4life

These locks prove time and time again that they
are too small for this level. The Sunwolves are
making us look like school kids for christ sake.

Stargazer

Seriously, Laban talking up Goosen while it was Smith slicing through the SW defence. :man_facepalming:

Stargazer

Weak defence costing the Canes. Nobody covering that right side of the field.

Higgins

Are the lack of posts about this game because no one is watching or because everyone is contemplating just what a perfect imitation of the way the Keystone Cops would play rugby the Hurricanes are exhibiting?

canefan

Jeez, the game is slipping away and it's not even half time

African Monkey

@Higgins I keep flicking through this and the Storm v Roosters haha but it was always risky resting their best apart from Perenara.

canefan

TJ knows how Jeff Wilson felt now

Higgins

Surelt that must be a penalty try after the red player deliberately knocked the ball out of TJ Perenara's hands and over the touchline on the full? If not then he tackled him in the air thus a penalty and yellow card at the very least.

Paekakboyz

Ugh this is ugly. The further we fall behind the rougher we are getting.

canefan

Was that trick throw straight?

Imagine how embarrassing it would be if TJ Perenara was not playing/

No Ardie to clean up. FFS now our throw isn't straight!

canefan

I reckon we could win this if we stopped dropping the pill and making stupid mistakes, stating the obvious

Tim

The commentator (Lose?) just said that the home team was up 23 - 10 over the Sunwolves.

Sunwolves don't have a good defence. Don't do grubber kicks on attack and try to score in the corner from a miracle play. We should be able to graft it over. They are punishing our mistakes in midfield and deserve to be ahead but we should get up in the second half.

Stargazer

@Tim It's Ken Laban.
