Can someone tell me why TTT was selected as third All Black halfback? What has he done? And if he’s so good, why has Cooper stuck with Webber all season?

nzzp

where's @Jaguares4real -- a good win for his boys. Chiefs lost with lineout throwing and when Debs went off

Rancid Schnitzel

Theyll score a length of field try now.

The same reason Cooper has MMac?

Gunner

Only been watching the last 25 but the Jags were more composed, worked hard on d and deserving of the win.
Chiefs had chance after chance to score a match winner but looked panicked and couldn’t get the basics right.

Stargazer

@MrDenmore I think it was because it took Weber some time to get back to full form/fitness after that long time away from the game due to that horrible injury. Last year, Weber just wasn't that good. Not sure why they picked TTT, because he didn't really shine last year either. I think they hoped they found a big talent that they could develop into an AB quality halfback, but that has been disappointing.

gt12

Great heart Jags - awesome result for them.

Canes4life

Well played Jags. Well deserved.

MrDenmore

@Stargazer Well if they don’t pick Weber now, you have to wonder.

Canes4life

@MrDenmore Yeah he was the shining light, has had a superb season.

Yeetyaah

Hats off to the Jags. Chiefs didn't deserve the win. I hate life.

@Canes4life said in QF 3: Jaguares v Chiefs:

Yup, chiefs had it in the middle period, but lack of composure and silly penalties forced by just defence meant jags deserved winners.

Oh and having tits for hands didn't help

From an ABs point of view, it was a good result. Allows the test players to get at least an extra week off to rest up. Shag won't mind this result.

KiwiMurph

That was a good watch.

Good crowd too - should be an even bigger crowd for the semi final.

Canes4life

@Machpants yeah Chiefs handling was shocking, big work on in the off season.

Chris

Great game Chiefs handling errors probably cost you the game .They put the Jags under pressure at times.

Stargazer

Jaguares definitely deserved their win; their defence was great. However, you can't really say they outplayed the Chiefs when basically the Chiefs outplayed themselves by making so many errors.

And now, we'll have to wait who'll get to travel to Buenos Aires. Sharks or Brumbies. You'd have to say, the Jags have a good chance to reach the final, regardless of who they meet in the semis.

Mokey

Congrats to the Jags, they played better for longer. Chiefs made way too many mistakes, and did lose their way with MMac on (fark he is shite.)

On a side note, why why why did we have to have Jackson as ref.

KiwiMurph

Classy comments from Cane.

He is dead right too.

For the Chiefs errors you also have to look at the way the Jags defend. They put a lot of pressure on with big hits, line speed and attacking the breakdown. It's not a coincidence.

jegga

Good stuff from the argies, Chiefs fans can take comfort in the knowledge that Phil Kearns is seething over the Jags even being in the comp so making the finals is going to make being anywhere near his driveway an even dodgier proposition than usual.

Rancid Schnitzel

Respect to the Haguaries, that was impressive. But the Chiefs had that. How shit was the lineout.

My initial thoughts..
Congratulations to the Jaguaries..great for their fans and probably the comp

On the Chiefs..they will look back on this game as a missed opportunity, some of their best players decided to leave their hands at home, it was a little like watching the Blues in the 2nd half with all the handling errors..
To me that game was there for the taking ,but with a shoddy lineout means you hand the opposition more ball which then brings indiscipline..
Best of the Chiefs I thought were ALB,Alaimalo and Debreczini while he was on, says something when your best 3 are backs..
Thought the set piece scrum was superb but as mention the hookers could not hit the side of a barn from 5 metres today..

Even as a Blues supporter I do have respect for the Chiefs as despite all the injuries, they have kept themselves in the fight towards the finals..plenty of ticker in this team despite this mornings result..
Just a shame the early experiment of playing DMac at first five backfired ,I have since heard there was some All Black coaches influence in that selection which if I were a chiefs supporter that would piss me off no end.
Also a real shame Jack Debreczini was out for most of the season because we have seen what he bought to the 10 jersey once given an opportunity..
Gee if the Chiefs don’t re sign him , I personally would have him ahead of Otere Black every day of the week and twice on a Sunday ..
Hold you head up chiefs supporters..under the circumstances not a bad season.

Based on the pre-match talking up by that Jag fan, Chiefs musta played outta thier skins to be so close...

Seriously though, well done Jags, also kept my multi alive.

Bummer for the Brumbies having to get on that big bird to BA.

👀 👀

Jaguares were okay in the game but did enough to win & deserved to win

Chiefs were nullified in the 2nd half minus a good 5 min spell near Jagaures goaline

This was why I was so confident they would win

Jaguares have 2nd best Points differential in the 2nd half in Super Rugby
Today they won 13-7 in 2nd half

Chiefs apart from their scrums and set piece attacks off them were really poor overall

In general play they struggled to challenge Jaguares D

I counted FOURTEEN handling errors from Chiefs

Most of them forced by line speed in defence Most unlike a NZ side

Still game was in doubt for a while

Chiefs best players were their Back 3 and Debrizieni

You can;t win knockout games like that

Finally Jaguares crowd was 🔥 🔥 🔥

mariner4life

Well, shit. Sounds like it's good for my Saturday demeanor that I didn't watch a minute of it.

Congrats Jags and fans, and best of luck for next weekend

ACT Crusader

@Steven-Harris agree with most of that.

But I didn’t think ALB was one of the Chiefs best. He was driven back in almost every carry. Didn’t hit the line at speed like he usually does. He was well contained which is a credit to the Jags defence.

There were chances to win for the Chiefs but I thought there was a drop in composure when the starting 9/10 combo were replaced.

Well done Jags. A close contest by two very evenly matched teams.

shark

Good riddance Chiefs. The dross is quickly being weeded out in these quarter-finals, as it should be. Now i want the Sharks to win tonight and in BA so we hopefully get a chance to avenge that draw.

taniwharugby

@shark cant see the Sharks winning tonight, nor
the Brumbies next week.

shark

@taniwharugby i can see the Sharks winning tonight but i dont genuinely see them winning again in BA.

Siam

Jags were good. Good team. Should walk into the final. Fair enough, well done them

I haven't seen the game, but I disagree with this. It is not unlike a NZ side to make mistakes when facing a strong rush defence. Line speed is the way to force NZ sides into mistakes and spoil their rhythm. The British Lions showed the way and as yet NZ sides have not consistently been able to overcome the rush defence (when done well).

That's why I am nervous about the World Cup.

We're probably in teh wrong thread, but Lions test 1 showed how to overcome that - good inside balls, hard running and offloading all night. Ireladn last year was a bit of an aberration - if we get held to 9 points, it's going to be damn hard to win. Well done to them - but we looked well off our game that night.

NTA

Quality game bar the handling errors.

Hags woke up some time just after the break and decided to be the 2019 version rather than the 2018 version. Game over.

Great scrummaging from the chiefs after they realised they should all push at the same time

Bones

Hamazing hags scrape past a misfiring Chiefs at home. Hand them the trophy!

How funny were the scrums though, those hags really are tough. And everyone marvel at the hags hamazing kicking, just wow.

Also had to laugh at Weber's new found pass accuracy, after Sowakula knocked on one dribbling at his feet or Sam Cane's knee smashed the pass forward for the umpteenth time. Was extremely noticeable how TTT's passes were going directly to hand.

Debres... Debrez... Jack D is good eh, going to be handy next season.

Why so salty!!!! :loudly_crying_face: :loudly_crying_face:

Not a beauty contest Just about winning ugly

Jaguares played their worst game since they lost to Highlanders 6 weeks ago and STILL WON......

I understand it's hard for you to comprehend a NZ team being outplayed & outfought physically and tactically by a bunch of Argentinians but you'll get there in the end 🙏 🙏 🙏

Poor BIG BAD Brodie Retallick face at the end of the game was like he'd gone 12 rounds with Mike Tyson 👀 👀

Might have to rename him BRICK HAND Brodie Retallick with the number of times he dropped the pill :face_screaming_in_fear: :face_screaming_in_fear: :face_screaming_in_fear:

Jaguares scrum has been crap all season Only reason why teams have got any losing BP out of them but Lineouts are were you really lose games

6 lost lineouts lost was embarrassing Petti was creating havoc

But hey you get to watch Jaguares host the Brumbies next Sunday morning NZ time :face_with_tears_of_joy: :face_with_tears_of_joy:

Enjoy 🥂 🥂
