19 - 3 deserved winners. The Crusaders machine kicked in midway through the first half after the Hags fired shots early and came up empty handed.

Three-peat!

Kirwan

Well done Crusaders. Only one team in that final, squeezed the life out of them.

Donsteppa

Looking forward to the Robertson breakdance.

I thought that was a great game of rugby. If you thought it was boring, give the World Cup a miss.

kiwiinmelb

Great defensive effort , probably not a game to get overly excited by , but they have been great this season , best team by some margin

taniwharugby

best team won, nothing boring about that.

Jags worthy finalists, maybe lacked a bit of big game experience at crucial times.

sparky

Well done, the Crusaders. Enjoy!

Ruthless, awesome stuff.

@sparky Did the job well against a good opponent. Pleased with that.

ACT Crusader

Proud of the team.

Hard fought win. Well done both sides who played an almost test like match.

Jags a fantastic season. Saders big names really stepped up - Read, Todd, Whitelock, Moโ€™unga (goal kicking), Franks.

Meh. Crusaders win. Boring game. Sick of Canterbury rugby. Spread the talent.

Nothing boring or unfair about the best team winning. You might not like the Crusaders' dominance. They are not my franchise of choice either.

But, my God, I respect the job Razor and co. have done since Todd Blackadder left.

Chris

Great win Crusaders stoked with that
Jags were awesome very good side
Pretty sure they will win a title over the next few years
Great to see some of the ABโ€™s doing the hard yards bodes well for WC

Yeah. The Jaguares were great with ball in hand too, just missing the final pass.

The difference between the final canes semi final was really just that both teams in the final were on their games defensively.

In cricket terms this was 240 being chased down on a tricky pitch, last week was chasing 350 on a flat deck.

Yeetyaah

@sparky Ah fair. Razor is an incredible coach.

The Saders completely changed their tactics after the first 25 minutes, the decision not to play rugby in their own half was very smart..they stuck to a very good kicking game, and applied pressure at scrum time.
The Jaguaries were worthy opponents and finalists but you have got to take your chances..itโ€™s a shame this game was not played in the afternoon..
I thought Read,Whitelock and Todd especially were outstanding in the forwards.
In the backs ,Moungaโ€™s goal kicking was superb..liked the work of Bridge and Havili at the back but I thought their best back was Bryn Hall..
Really good final, with test match intensity..good luck to all the Saders heading off shore..!

Crusaders deserved to win

Jaguares were the better team but when you bomb 2 tries + don't kick a penalty 40m out 15m from touch you deserve to lose

Crusaders were functional and did enough to win & were clinical when they got a chance

Diaz Bonilla chose a bad time to have his worst game of the season - 2nd half was utter filth

WTF Moroni was doing for Crusaders try + his actions for the bombed try were negligent

I'm pissed off a game the Jaguares could have won, they let slip with bad decision making and execution

pukunui

Awesome win and great to get the 3-peat. Had the feel of a test match (a test match in heavy rain).

Jags had their chances but spent long periods just kicking the ball away in good position. Due mostly to great defence.

Loved Moungaโ€™s goal kicking.

I hope those kiwis that wanted a jags win enjoy those sour grapes.

ACT Crusader

Pablo played like what Read used to. Heโ€™s dynamic out on the wing.

Donsteppa

โ€œThe better teamโ€ never loses a game 19 - 3.

Chris

@Jaguares4real great game by the Jags
Donโ€™t think they were the best team ?? I think the best team won

If you werenโ€™t trolling during the week leading up to tonight, you surely are now.

Yeetyaah

Fuck I'll be the first to admit that I hate the Crusaders and their successes and I'll say shit like ah fuck them they're shit and boring. But to be the best you have to beat the best. And right now, the Crusaders under razor are just too good. If he isn't the next AB's coach, I'll be disappointed.

Too obvious ๐ŸŽฃ

Not trolling Marshall made a similar point in terms of the stats

But sadly the game is not played on paper

Crusaders outside of some pressure in 50th minute did not threaten to score a try

Crusaders deserved to win as they were more efficient but Jaguares were IMO the better team

But that counts for little

KiwiMurph

Congrats Crusaders. Way too clinical.

Mounga goal kicking very impressive.

Conditions hampered Jags in their offloading game I thought.

Young Jags 10 went to pieces a tad.

That game pretty much went entirely as expected. No plot twists.

Glad Matera got man of match. He was the best player on the field - absolute gun.

they do when they leave at least 15 points on the table and gift a try through a winger having a brain fart

Well said

In the 2nd half Mo'unga stepped up & Diaz Bonilla had a stinker

Matera was best player on the pitch with honourable mention for Todd

Coulda, shoulda, woulda.

Didnโ€™t.

Distant second on the scoreboard.

Couldnโ€™t even score one try.

Not even one.

Not. Even. One.

Better team?

In an opposites universe...

Stats donโ€™t win matches. Defence does. Marshall doing his best unbiased commentary.

Other than that period in the first half where the Jags were attacking red hot and playing extremely flat, I thought the tactics of the Jags changed for the worst.

The Jags 1st 5 started standing extremely deep. The forwards werenโ€™t as quick to their spots in attack. All that possession and not scoring does take its toll.

As delusional as your pre game posts. You said it, the game isnโ€™t played on paper. Cherry picking stats to suggest a team, that was beaten with plenty of time to go, was the better team is pathetic.

The Crusaders didnโ€™t need to push for tries in the second half. They were happy chalking points up in 3โ€™s.

Chris

Bring on the WC letโ€™s bring that Fucka a home as well

Canes4life

The final was last week. Jaguares never had a chance. Well done on the 10th Crusaders. Hopefully a new winner next year. ๐Ÿค™

No Quarter

Not a great game in terms of pure excitement given it was sealed with 7 minutes to go, but a very clinical performance from some ABs which is great to see leading into TRC and the WC.

Read is not the player he was ranging wide but he gets through a ton of work and rarely makes mistakes, which are great attributes for our 8 to have in tight test matches.

Mo'unga looks very calm in the big games now, has really found his feet at the top level and adds a huge amount to the AB squad. He's a world class 10 now.

I'm definitely ready for some international footy now, bring on the ABs!

Indeed

Diaz Bonilla got worse as the match wore on & that killed the Jaguares game plan- they totally rely on #10 to be flat and provide options for ball runners

Kicking from 9 is a better strategy
