What a hit Devan. Start him over Prinsep please.

Bloody hell, TMO for the win!

Yeetyaah

Good call to not get the TMO involved, but that ball was forward

Stargazer

Who would have thought? A late try, mostly the work of bench players, earns the Canes a win in Buenos Aires.

Canes4life

Well played Canes. That will give us huge confidence going forward. Barrett was superb tonight.

Jeez snatched that, lovely jubbly, back home for the sharks, tough

Stargazer

@Yeetyaah There wasn't a single camera view from the right angle that showed that it was forward.

Was that Fifita again with the no-arms tackle?

There was a right arm involved and in any case the referee can actually be heard saying he was awarding a penalty for a late tackle which it certainly was not (the ball was jolted out of the black players grasp during the actual tackle)! Rasta did not even ask for a replay of the incident.

Never doubted the boys for a minute

It looked forward to me. The main camera angle shows it clearly enough.

Walker-Leawere is starting and Devan Flanders has come onto the bench.

Walker is paying like an idiot. Jordie 1m off the longest successful penalty ever in Union

@Machpants said in Jaguares v Hurricanes:

And a penalty there cos walker l cleaned out the entirely wrong person. Useless fat lump who's only impact is negative

I'm picking you're not a fan of Isaiah. Thought he went well myself.

Oh a lion's type tackling player in the air penalty, whilst jumping for a pass

There was one the other way earlier (or was it in the Grey's game against the Tahs?) That wasn't called.

I don't think it should be a penalty just catching a pass.

This was the first game I watched him closely. He is overweight, reminds me a bit of Skelton, just lumbers around with no urgency. When he tackles he's normally good, and I guess he's good in the scrum - I claim no knowledge of that. But he had tits for hands, passing and catching, and often misses the danger player when he cleans out - did it several times this game, resulting in one or two turn overs. Basically he's basic, when the jags were close in, one off, he was fine, could lumber about. But anything requiring pace or thought, he was a liability. That saying, by conserving himself I guess, he certainly kept in the game and improved as it went on. Made a ton of tackles, cos the jags weren't too inventive, and I was probably a bit harsh as his first quarter was very poor.

@Dice was watching rugby 1014 and all the 7s do it’s very common in fact I do it and get away with it it’s very good not really having to support your own body weight

Why isn’t Dane Coles playing?

Great character and resilience by the Hurricanes. A pleasing win.

Canes4life

@Machpants I thought Walker-Leawere was exactly what we needed in the pack. The extra weight in the engine room helped in the scrum and he provided much needed go forward as a ball carrier, something we were heavily lacking last week. He may not be in the best form of his life yet but he will get better with game time. Last year he was one of our best so I wouldn't go judging him too harshly on his first peformance of 2020.

Canes4life

@Yeahtheboys easing him into the season aparently, I think he will be available next week as the Sharks come to town.

@Stargazer He cops a bit of flack on here, but he's not a bad ref.

He's a fucking shocking and biased 7s ref, but he's usually half decent at 15s. Apart from telling the tmo to fuck off I thought he was quite poor in this game though. Seemed to miss lots and fuck me, the coaching! He doesn't shit up! "Get back, get back, stop". Mate if you just shut up and penalise offside/front runners once or twice I'm sure the players will get the hint and start to police themselves.

Oh and @gt12 that effort was hilarious.

This one is more contextual ...

Well moving on from hot woman, or just a shoet break, finally watched the game.
Huge improvement from last week, showed a little heart and commitment this game.
Forward pack stood up and didn't get totally walked over.
No 10 is still a problem, as we knew it would be, but JGB starts ever week over Smith now.
I read Jordies kick was 1m short of the record at super level, was crazy when you see it cleared the posts by at least 10m. I know he has many detractors but I thought had a very good game.
I thought Proctor was ok at 13, but you could see the spark Aso added, he just has the great combo with Laumape. But how about that soccer dive when Proctor scored, I know its a carryover from soccer there, but it is ridiculous. At least the weird ref called them out one time for "simulation"
I think the Canes bench added a lot of spark, and scored the 2 late tries.
I still can't see the Canes making if far, unless we can try Jordie at 10, whats the harm? But happy we played with some heart compared to last week.
