Yeetyaah

Fuck I'm really not digging Leger.

Jailbreak7

Shame - Mitch Jacobson has been very good for the SW - Chiefs could have really done with him in place of his bro

Was that the bonus point lost?

Yeetyaah

Shit penalty against Nel

Yeetyaah

Good try to the Barbarians. Shit defence Chiefs.

Jailbreak7

Still haven;t figured out the D on the inside channel yet... poor from the Chiefs better from the SW. However they are still shown a lot of latitude by the ref

Bones

Another clear case of tackled player getting up and going again.

antipodean

Does Gardner know or care what supporting your own weight means?

Jailbreak7

@Bones Yep one of my real bugbears

Must be one of those new law interpretations they keep trying.

Yeetyaah

Why did he even bother going upstairs. piston wristed gibbon.

It's been a definite"thing" in super rugby this year so far. So must have been something raised behind the scenes?

Crazy Horse

Ben Te'o has had some good touches. Monstered the young Chiefs 13 a couple of times too.

Jailbreak7

Orbyn Leger needs to sort out his D though

Yeetyaah

Good try to Trask. Maybe the bay are useful after all.

gt12

Was Trask onside?

 I was going to say it's hard to tell he was a starting Lions back on this performance. Not that he's been well served by the players inside him.

Yeetyaah

Second half wasn't the prettiest but overall stoked with the mana. #ouryear or whatever.

Crazy Horse

@antipodean funny how we see different things! Guess I was watching him and comparing him to the shit SBW of the last few years.

Jailbreak7

Like the fact we have used this match to blood some of the young guys in the team. Give them a real taste of SR in front of a big crowd, they will be better for it

Stargazer

Welcome back, Tiaan Falcon. Hopefully more game time soon.

Hooroo

Yay. We won against Japan. Awesome.

Jailbreak7

@Hooroo Or not Japan as the case may be (but combined NZ/SA/Aus/Eng/Japan)

Hooroo

I saw fuck all of the game but when I did happen to look up, it looked as though Dmac was carving up and breaking tackles.

Was this the case for most of the match??

He had a very good game. Ran nice lines and created lots. Had a big moment in defence as well. Stopped a certain try and turned the ball over

I could not watch the game. How did Trask fare ? I think he was overwhelmed by the occasion against the Blues, he is a better player than what we saw in Eden Park.

Dmac missed 4 of his 7 tackle attempts. (from ESPN)

I can’t recall any bad misses but I may have missed something. Those stats can be misleading by counting desperation cover tackles as misses.
Trask had a solid game. Still finding his feet and not trying too much. Helps to have good service though.
Falcon also showed a couple of nice touches and looked quite sharp

Yep, if defensive liabilities like Mounga and Reece are going to be first choice for the ABs we need to pick solid but uncreative players like Bridge in the back 3 to clean up the mess.

Stargazer

@Crucial I think the stat is correct, but what stats don't show is where a tackle was missed and what the impact of the miss was.

Just a reminder, yes Dylan Nel was playing. Not that anyone else would have known
