Scrums on Brumbies ball are a shambles

taniwharugby

Brumbies lucky there, Drua could have had 2 pens: 1 for holding and another for straight off feet.

I thought the Drua might be better than this. They look mud. When Baden Kerr is in your starting team in 2022 it tells you something.

I wonder how long this experiment will last.

Work experience kid as ref?

taniwharugby

@antipodean tbf they did only start assembling the team about 8 months or so ago...

If World rugby are serious about growth they should be underwriting this and MP, I reckon they need min 4 years before you can start looking at killing the 'experiment '

African Monkey

@taniwharugby Yup, they need time, and more importantly, them and MP being there is of a massive benefit for Island rugby.

I wonder how many players were part of the Fijian Drua NRC team of 2017 - 2019?

taniwharugby

Drua scrum is probably the most consistent part of their game, love to see the left wing with more space.

Some play and decision making very poor.

taniwharugby

Wasn't there a pen advantage at the maul? Very short for being in the 22

NTA

I hate the "I've got no clear grounding" call. To me it's negative

taniwharugby

Brumbies should get a YC, infringing all over the shop.

Drua 9 looks very average at passing.

Drua scrum held up pretty well against a pretty strong Brumbie one

taniwharugby

Ah ok, so you get 2 warnings...

taniwharugby

Forward all day, he had no forward momentum Plank.

Brumbies 42-3

Brumbies pretty average, Drua mostly rocks, glimpses of diamonds.

Think too many of the Drua playing with a 7s mentality leading to some really poor decisions and errors.

Big issues at 9-10 though, 9 clearance (starter and reserve) was too slow, and the 10 not really controlling things, meaning the backs got alot of poor ball.

Good for my picks, nothing else
