Ennor has made some mistakes, but he's made some huge tackles, too.

Yeah and TJ is a crap halfback these days but brings heaps around the field

I wouldn’t say he’s crap mate, he was massively influential in Wellington’s NPC success. His pass ain’t the best but his hustle is unmatched. Best defensive halfback in NZ aswell.

Ffs how is that a yellow

YC is very tough but it was very dumb

Stargazer

Ridiculous card.

Canes4life

The ref is a toolbag.

Stargazer

Have to say that Jacobson hasn't had a good game thus far. Not sure you can blame that on him not being an openside.

@Canes4life to be fair he’d been very good thus far

Halfback’s primary job is his pass. That’s the bit I was referring to.

Tim

@Stargazer He's put some good tackles in, but has given penalties at the ruck.

Stargazer

Good maul defence. Irish didn't go anywhere.

A reason why some forwards shouldn’t kick

Yeah but he more than makes up for it in other facets. Especially his defence.

No Quarter

That really was everything that is wrong with rugby now. Go back all the way to half way for a minor indiscretion and not only rub out the try, but YC the player just because. Would they have even checked it if we didn't score? Honestly how do they expect to attract new fans to the game with shit like that.

Crucial

This whole “lifted the ball” ruling is getting stupid. Making rucks really messy as players are deliberately entering with no intention other than remaining on their feet to attack the clearance from the halfback

Stargazer

@No-Quarter It's pedantic. I have no other word for it.

Canes4life

TJ’s rush defence is putting the Irish in all sorts.

Discipline has gone south in the last several minutes

Dan54

Have to say I think Dom Gardiner has done a few good little things at 6.

Stargazer

@Canes4life Not just TJ. It's clearly something they have worked on as a team.

Im referring to him rushing out of the line by himself but he’s timing it perfectly. Did it for Wellington aswell. He’s done it about four times in this game.

Canes4life

Good try Ireland.

Good match so far.

That try bi product of not having a 7 on the paddock , good play from the Irish

Crazy Horse

Score?

Stargazer

Glad that mistake didn't cost us.

I think they got into a position where because they were checking for foul play it had to be either a card or play on, and because they found what was probably a penalty (coming in from the side) they didn't want to award the try so gave the card, screwing the ABXV. I just really dislike the way they go way back to "check something" when a try is scored. Either the ref blows his whistle at the time of the act, or he calls play on. TMO should ONLY be for checking groundings etc.

Bovidae

Ironic that the ref has warned the AB XV for some high tackles but Ireland A tackle around the neck to try to hold a player up all the time.

TBF the ref did call it when it happened but didn’t want to stop play in case there was nothing to see. Sometimes you can’t win either way.
Thought YC was harsh though. Irish are playing like football prima donnas though when they get “hurt” to draw attention and make this look worse.

@Stargazer AB backrow has been very busy from my standpoint. Hope they keep it up in the second half.

Need to keep their discipline though (Jacobson especially obviously).

Stargazer

@Bovidae I noticed that, too. TJP got penalised for one earlier that the Irish get away with all the time in this game.

Stargazer

That YouTube stream is ahead of the tv broadcast on Sky.

Stargazer

That looked way too easy.

Tim

McMillan must be pumped for Stevenson's form.
