Is Watson injured

It’s only Tonga. Probably rested.

I would appreciate if some Scots fans could fill me in on why Magnus Bradbury wasn’t selected in the squad though? He’s no Ethan Blackadder but seems a good hard hitting hard running 6/8 that would benefit the team immensely?

MiketheSnow

Watson hasn’t been playing

Would have thought Tonga was ideal

nostrildamus

I'm the only one probably voting for Tonga. Somebody has to back the underdog.

Smuts

Need the Scots to win well to set up Ireland’s humilification…

Settle, we all want the Scots to win and win well but there’s no need to make up words on here.

A few eyebrows have certainly been raised over someone called Sione Tuipulotu lining up for Scotland against Tonga. What a lot of people don’t know is he was an early example of World Rugbys controversial “swap a player of your choice” into the other team. Promising but unknown midfielder Angus MacGregor was due to line up for Tonga but unfortunately broke his ankle stepping into a rabbit hole and is out of all Rugby indefinitely.

Duluth

15 Charles Piutau, 14 Solomone Kata, 13 Malakai Fekitoa, 12 Pita Ahki, 11 Afusipa Taumoepeau, 10 William Havili, 9 Augustine Pulu, 8 Vaea Fifita, 7 Sione Talitui, 6 Tanginoa Halaifonua, 5 Sam Lousi, 4 Halaleva Fifita, 3 Ben Tameifuna (c), 2 Paula Ngauamo, 1 Siegfried Fisi’ihoi

Reserves: 16 Sam Moli, 17 Tau Koloamatangi, 18 Sosefo Apikotoa, 19 Adam Coleman, 20 Semisi Paea, 21 Sione Vailanu, 22 Sonatane Takulua, 23 Patrick Pellegrini

Nepia

Are there really no better wings in Tonga (NZ, Oz) than Kata?

Well, I guess on the wing he doesn't have to pass ...

Jailbreak7

How I wish we could go back to good old fashioned contesting the ruck as it should be. Get so fed up with the ref shouting "leave it" at every single breakdown

sparky

Tonga score.

Scotland 7 Tonga 10.

Billy Tell

Imo piatau would have been an immense AB. Career wasted for money

Jailbreak7

@Billy-Tell Yes I was just thinking we let him go too early. Similar for Fekitoa.

sparky

@Billy-Tell For me, the classic example of someone who should have been allowed to go and play Club Rugby in Europe or Japan, earn big money and learn about different styles of Rugby, then could have come home.

He could have been a 100+ Test All Black if the rules were a bit more flexible.

Billy Tell

I wish Scotland would stop poaching Dutch rugby players. Even if it’s the forebears that were Dutch….

Jailbreak7

I wish the ITV comms would stop saying "Lucy" when talking about Lousi and "A key" for Ahki

Billy Tell

Normally I’d be for Tonga. But I’d like this pool to go to the wire for ire vs Scot which means Scotland need 2 BP victories

Wish Fekitoa would have stayed with the ABs.
Piutau just chased the money. I guess Fekitoa did as well. But Piutau just bothers me more.
I really don’t think Piutau is looking to good right now anyway.
Tonga are putting in some nice hits. Their 6 looks pretty good to me. But just getting a little out classed.

MajorStokes

World Rugby need to explain why that wasnt a red.card. Looked stone cold red to me.

sparky

Scotland leading easily know 24-10.

sparky

Try Tonga. Big Ben powers over. 24-15.

@MajorRage utterly confused now. Complete lottery now it seems

Yep. 100% red. How can it not be?

sparky

Conversion over 24-17.

Jailbreak7

Apparantly, Fizzzy eeee hoy! Is on the pitch

sparky

Scotland score. 31-17.

Jailbreak7

How many SA do Scotland need ffs

game_film

Can’t take this competition seriously. Dude will be cited and cop 3.

mantissanet

We don’t see enough of that actually in my book. Couple minutes before the end Scotland being marched back 10 for backchat. But honestly some of the other calls on this match were demoralising….

We didn't let him go, we just couldn't afford him. He was offered double+ what our top abs were on. If he got paid that, so would everyone else have to be

Stargazer

Watching the highlights, not having seen the game. Vaea Fifita, how stupid was that "clean-out"? Deserved red card. The yellow card for Afusipa Taumoepeau I can understand because the sudden dip will be a cause for mitigation, but Fifita's was blood red all day.

Bovidae

Tonga looks like a poorly coached team.

I only saw highlights but Big Ben still looks more mobile than our props.

Reminiscent of a young Bill Cavubati charging in for that try…..and yeah, making Nepo and Ofa look like a pair of Easter Island statues.

Those two South African Scottish wingers sure are dangerous. Particularly DVDM, that try he set up was class, shades of Jonah in that one ( more so than Caleb Clarke has shown at any rate )

Didn't Hansen tell him to lose weight to be more mobile?

Looks like he added 20kgs and still is a machine

NTA

Fuck me how was that not a red card?

Dickson is a terrible ref. Either he's not looking or he's not confident.

@MN5 How pale are your shades? Not even in the same conversation with Jonah 🙂
