Nice to see Ratima smiling post match

Frank

Midfield was particularly impressive.

African Monkey

@Machpants Pretty much. It was virtually the Drua side out there.

Yeah ALB and Proctor my two players of the match. Ratima also very good before going off.

Toddy

Watching Blackadder tonight I can see why Robertson is keeping Cane around.

No Quarter

Very clinical performance. EB was the only one I can think of that struggled, everyone else played well really. ALB playing well at 12 was a big plus and great to see Clarke still in form after his injury as he is an absolute weapon down the left.

Canes4life

Fuck sake Sky. Sort your shit out.

ACT Crusader

Proctor reminded me of a young Rico Gear playing centre for the Blues back in the day.

Stay classy chiefs supporters

I get what you mean, I was trying to work out who he reminds me of .

BerniesCorner

Aumua is pressing to start
Sititi needs to start. Savea 8 , Sititi 6
Ratima starts, wonderful to have quick ball.
Proctor starts
Ioane moves to the wing
Clarke is hungry good to see.

Our supply of props is awesome.

For the Razor knockers this team is so much better organized than the previous era. Kept their structure.

frugby

No hurry with Sititi... probably done enough to take the #20 jersey though.

So 47 - 5 in the end. Best part was to see the newbies do so well.

Best part was walking out of the "Kangaroo & Kiwi", and some mehican seems to be setting up a sausage sizzle on the sidewalk. As the bar turns into a shit disco. Friday, 21:40.

Winger

Hotham will be happy with his first game.

Likewise Proctor with a superb game. Along with ALB.

Newell is limited apart from the scrum. Shame that he and Tosi can't be combined

BerniesCorner

A passing center omg

Bovidae

I will read comments later but Clarke starts ahead of Telea against Arg. A big difference between the speed of Ratima's passing compared to Hotham's.

Sititi looked like he is made for this but tougher opponents to come.

Ardie not a shake on what he was last year

What a load of bollocks. He is doing fine and by the end of the year he will be even better !!!!

antipodean

The only thing you can really take from a game like this is players who shit the bed or look ineffective.

And I don't agree with Marshall that Ethan looked good. Busy yes.

Stag

@No-Quarter
Jacobson 3 runs 2 meters
Blackadder 6 runs 38 meters

Who struggled???

Stag

@Toddy
Jacobson 3 runs 2 meters
Blackadder 6 runs 38 meters
And they had virtually the same tackle stats.
🤷♂

African Monkey

@antipodean He's a bit of a lightweight at this level isn't he? Like, he gets around and tries to attack everything, but half the time he got folded at breakdown time and was left falling over, and he falls off tackles by over committing. He did a few good things out there but most of the time I thought he was rather ineffective, and that was against Fiji.

I fear for him if he plays against the bigger packs, not through lack of endeavor of course, but I think he gets hammered against the bigger packs.

Stag

@Stag but I would play Blackadder at 6

tackle stats

jacobson 8 and 1 miss
niggles 7 and 4 misses is not the same

Stag

@ploughboy fair. But on the flip side Blackadder was clearly far more effective on attack. Two meters for an All Black loose forward against Fiji, really???

Stag

@African-Monkey if Blackadder is a light weight against Fiji with 36 meters from 6 runs what the hell does that make Jacobson with 2 running meters for the whole game. It’s quite clear a number of people on the fern can’t stand Blackadder and will never accept his efforts regardless of what he does.

Stag

@African-Monkey
Jacobson had 3 runs for 2 meters and Blackadder 6 runs for 36 meters. Your observations are clearly clouded by some sort of bias.

African Monkey

@Stag Never said I was huge in Jacobsen either.

He made 1 run in the first half where he went about 10 meters, before not keeping his weight and giving away a penalty for nit releasing, then made a good run in the midfield from a set piece early in the 2nd half off the top of the line out (part of the good things he did if you read my post). When he gets the ball off first phase from most line outs off the top, he is going to make a few meters per carry. My criticisms were also more defense and breakdown related too.

I notice you're always angry and sulking on here lol, lighten up a bit.

African Monkey

@Stag Also how am I biased? I think I've defended Crusaders players and the team more than most non Crusaders fans this year?

sparky

A great debut by Billy Proctor.

BerniesCorner

Some tough decisions to be made.
The team that started against England wasn't the top side.

African Monkey

@BerniesCorner Slight difference in class of opposition today compared to England I think it's fair to say?

BerniesCorner

Yeah but it's obvious some guys have a quicker pass, others can distribute the ball under pressure. Some aren't phased by test rugby and have a high work rate.

I can't believe they didn't use Clarke during the England series - I mean how many times would have it been better to have Caleb punching and getting over the gain line rather than Telea dodging 5 tacklers and getting caught behind the advantage line?

Ardie made forty metres, best 7 defenders, and I thought he was pretty anon for Ardie. Sititi made 24m and 8 tackle no misses in 25 mins. He was the only loosies that was really good this game. I'll give Jacobsen line out tick, tho. But 4 misses out of eleven, is not good bladder. Two metres is not good Jacobsen. Ardie did the same as their best bits combined in 55 mins, and sititi almost did in25!

sparky

Which other international teams could go to the United States and get a crowd of over 30,000 paying punters?

Ireland and British and Irish Lions could but no one else.

The All Black brand is so important to the global growth of the game.

Bovidae

Savea was a hungus off the back of some scrums. There was a great chance for Reece in the 2nd half but he never looked to draw and pass. Reece eventually scored but there was a decent blindside to use initially.

African Monkey

@BerniesCorner England applied a lot more pressure defensively both at ruck time and with their line speed, Fiji were passive asf in all areas of their defensive side of the game, so I think today's crew had it a lot easier than the guys who played in the 2 tests v England.

Not sure i'd be making definitive statements about test rugby in a game vs a weakened Fiji

Lol anthem so bad it made the news
