Also Broomfield needs more love. He’s been great the second half of the season

ACT Crusader

Enjoy the game fellas because I reckon tomorrow’s game is going to be a defensive slog

Torian

@jimmyb yes Jae he's a fine winger I'm glad Canterbury ignored him 🙂

Feel for Taine Kolose in an ideal world he would've been just impact tonight sigh Ta$man

What are we being blamed for now? 🙂

The report say Eklund got kicked in the face by his team mate, Cashmore.

If you'd like to make a deposit to the "I'm sorry Ta$man fund", we usually stipulate a minimum of $50K because we pay our admin staff very well!

As long as the Bay win by 3-0 I don't care how much of a defensive slog it is. (I'm not too confident we can bring down the Death Star though).

But great to have this enjoyable game to watch this weekend.

SouthernMann

Let's go Hawke's Bay!

ACT Crusader

Finn looks to have done a calf or hammy

Oli Haig has well and truly outplayed Ah Kuoi

If the ABXV was picked tomorrow those two might be swapped over.

Torian

We can live without dazzling Finn but if Millar isn't avaliable it's real tough

Potential injuries to Millar, TUJ, Hurley, Nareki. That is a lot

bayimports

A couple of mins to go but last rites already issued. Well done Otago..

take it forward and win next week

What’s happened to Millar? I had to turn off and pay attention to work

Incorrect about Nareki. He looks fine.

Nepia

Well done Otago, in the first half I thought Of Plenty were going to run away with it as they seem to make metres at will on the left edge. Then Otago started making metres at will from all over the park.

SouthernMann

Finn Hurley is looking very uncomfortable

ACT Crusader

Nareki finished strong.

Millar HIA so hopefully he passes.

Finn goneski I reckon.

Umaga-Jensen looked worst for wear

jimmyb

The tight five from Otago did well to negate the BoP scrum. Thought it was going to be a real problem

Dan54

That will do me for a semi final folks. Bloody loved it!

frugby

My judgement was they will all be fine except Hurley. Large just cramps, jars etc. Millar ran off and looked confused.

Hurley looked like a twisted ankle… maybe ligaments but he could put some weight on it

Torian

@frugby cheers, sorta in disbelief we weren't meant to make the final, all the Rugby scribes were predicting David Havili & Blackadders crew to be there at the business end, I thank Razor for giving us Lio-Willie back on loan I also have to thank Northland for sending Casey down it's just all coming up glorious for this once again Mighty Otago Union 🙌

That first 60mins was probably the best rugby I’ve seen an Otago or highlanders side play for a long long time

Good game, few beers: a pledger to watch.

ARHS

Well done Otago. Very hungry all night. Very disappointed by Bop. Nowhere near their best. Ruck clean out was poor. I am not a fan of Cashmores kick and pass execution. Often seem rushed and without direction to me. But he will get better. Lalomilo usually not such a turnstile on defence either. Wonder if some guys were carrying injuries.

Cam Millar was most impressive. Really don't get why Highlanders fans so keen to have him gone.

I don't! I was willing to live in a world where Cam is the landers 10, Hurley or Solomon is the 22, as Muliania develops behind the scenes,
Josh Jacomb as 10 for the Chiefs & D Mac as the fullback should've been the Vision sold to Jacomb from Jonno 🙂

taniwharugby

@Grooter love the way both these teams have played, playing some bloody good rugby, I said about 4 weeks ago this Otago team looked to have the right balance to go all.the way.

Bovidae

@ARHS Lalomilo looked gassed in the 1st half. I was surprised that he wasn't the first midfielder or back to be subbed.

The Otago scrum held up better than I expected, and BOP didn't get the impact from their bench they would have hoped for.

@Bovidae thought Bop overdid the high kick game even though Judd is excellent at this facet
At the end of the day Otago’s energy and skill across the paddock was just too much for Bop

Another week where again I think the referee deserves a lot of credit. You don't get open entertaining games like that without the officials applying common sense, so credit to Paul Williams.

Just ten penalties, and I think four of those were in the first 10 minutes.

Funny you say that, I got message from my son saying exactly at end of game, saying he thought Williams should get MOTM as he just made such a great job!

Landers92

Just such a massive effort from Otago to be so consistent throughout that whole game. Did not expect them to put a score like that on such a class outfit like BOP.

Cam Millar stood up last night and showed the game is slowing down for him and he really looks comfortable running that team around the field. His game direction has improved massively, kicking game more accurate and when it comes to goal kicking you won’t find anyone better in the comp. It’s his attacking game that has taken the biggest step up this season, he’s back to taking the line on and actually being a threat, he’s had a couple serious ankle injured and can’t help but think that’s impacted his confidence in that aspect of his game. At 23 years old there’s still a lot of maturing and growing to do, he has definitely turned a corner which is promising. He has taken some serious licks on here over the last couple seasons so I couldn’t be happier for the guy.

Like I said after the final round robin win against Auckland, any win from there on was a bonus on what had already been a season above expectations. I’m pretty confident when I say no Otago fan expected a season like this, shield is locked away for summer, 7 wins on the bounce(first time since 1998) and gearing up for a final. Here’s hoping we finish strong and end on a dream season. Either way, proud as punch of this group.

Go the golden O.

Excellent game, fabulously entertaining for the neutral, a great advert for NZ Rugby. Commiserations to BoP. Congratulations to Otago.
