Malan has a fractured cheekbone according to reports.
@hikastags yeah, he suffered a serious knee injury during their shield challenge against Southland. Haven't heard any time frames for it, like we have with Grace's knee, so I'm going to hope and pray he's good to go for Super.

He is still in a knee brace and on crutches as is Cullen Grace.
This Game will be interesting, backing the Bay just think back to earlier this year when I heard Fakatava had declined a French top 14 gig, he's a loyal man to his teams and I think It would be bloody cool If he was to play an npc final at his other home Forsyth barr

Nick Grigg out with a fractured cheekbone new midfield for the magpies with Le Roux Malan out with a similar injury
Looks a very disappointing crowd
T20 at Hagley Oval that’s been in the calendar for months
HB need to take their opportunity’s when they are given them, especially against this Canterbury defence.
Fakatava and McClutchie need to be more accurate.
Flanders has been strong to start.

@Canes4life Flanders love this guy
Shame he just ruled himself out for higher honours.
Nice chip and chase by Flanders. There was space in behind with the Cantab defence caught out for numbers.

Fihaki could have actually put the foot down and since he didn't do that, at the very least could have dived at the ball and put his body on the line.
Cantab ruck work has been strong. Christie has been leading the charge in those attacking rucks. Chapman getting very clean ball.

Sullivan put your bloody boot away in the attack zone
That was a poor kick. HB had numbers.
I hope Flanders can stay fit. He’d be easily a better 6/8 option for the ABs than Finau. His issue is staying fit though unfortunately.
HB worked hard to get themselves back in that. Flanders and Fakatava playing well and looking dangerous. Rakete-Stones also looking solid. Huge second half needed. Come on Hawkes bay, it’s possible!

Finau is in the squad as a 6/5 option so hes not really comparable to Flanders. The 6/8 options are Parker and Sititi. Personally Im not opposed to Flanders being in the squad over either of those players. I'd definitely have him in the squad over Kirifi who shouldn't be there with Savea and Lakai in the squad.

I wouldn’t be opposed to Flanders taking Kirifi’s spot especially considering Jacobson can also play 7. I’d have Flanders over Finau as a 6 option as well.
@Landers92 Rakete Stones playing with an MCL tear hence the heavy strapping on his Knee , be surprised if he comes in the 2nd half
