England a complete enigma. They can beat Ireland and France away, but strangely go to pieces at Murrayfield..

Pathetic. Scotland just giving up. Over as a spectacle at halftime. Give me Argentina v Australia any day.

Would have preferred Otago boys vs kings u15Bs. Would be more of a watch

pooler fan

Scotland were fantastic, fair play I didn't see that coming. Did England believe their own hype?

W32

Love that Steyn Scottish accent

MN5

Good win that.

Very pleasing to ruin Englandโ€™s grand slam ambitions cos fuck England.

Might very well lose every game from here on in and the Wooden Spoon still a definite chance but their ability to go against form and lift for the Auld Enemy is something else.

Dan54

That was a fun watch! Good on the Scots boys, love to see a game where the team just says stuff it , we aren't going to lose this!

sparky

20 lost turnovers by England.

4 of those by Freddie Steward. Three by Tommy Freeman and Two by Henry Arundell.

The aerial battle is so important in Test rugby these days.

2020 and 2007 were classics, but the rest were shite, so they're better than RC and SR.

Didn't see it coming. And yet to watch. But wonderful news to wake up to!

Show off.

Rain every day this year is going to catch up with you sometime

I picked the Scots to win- Murrayfield v The enemy is a very different dynamic than playing Italy in a rain soaked Rome.
Finn Russell is class

He sure isโ€ฆ..

Iโ€™m so sick of @mikethesnow going on about him though, it gets so tiresome.

MiketheSnow

He was brilliant today

Only watched the highlights but England were never winning that

Hopefully thatโ€™s Russellโ€™s one good game of the tournament done

Na, heโ€™ll go up another level against Wales

Ok now you are going on about him!

But thanks for implying Wales are a level above England!

Is Huw Jones the best centre running around WR atm?

Nice to watch Russell when he's enjoying himself and things work.

I thought Arundell's first YC was a bit harsh but the second was deserved.

The attempted drop goal charge down resulting in a try was magnificent. Chef's kiss

Yep. Exellent all round player.

Eight tries against England. Thatโ€™s a prood Scotsman if ever I saw one.

@MN5 I thought he was a Yappie?!

Huw Jones was born in Edinburgh. You're probably thinking of DVDM or Steyn, the former can't even make the team at the moment.

....and yeah, say what you want about weaknesses in the rest of the Scottish team ( usually evident when playing anyone that isn't England ) Jones is one of if not the best 13 in the world at the moment. Maybe only Jesse Kriel is in his class.

Was going to post exactly that.

Also, just a mention of the forward pass to Pollock. Looked way way worse than the one by the Eyeties which was demonstrably back relative to the player.

More difficult to tell as the passer ran into defenders, but it looked bad.

MiketheSnow

Another bottle job by England and another 6N without a Grand Slam

Poor dabs

The supporters are spewing

Good enough for the arrogant twats

Bones

Long live Borthwick....

MajorStokes

Very impressed by Tuipolotu captaincy yesterday.

Showed real leadership across the game and pushed the ref politely but firmly.

Impressive stuff.

Catogrande

Happy days for @mn5 enjoy it mate, it was well deserved. Great game by Scotland and never really in doubt after England coughed up ball too easily in the first 5minutes or so. It just felt like we were going to be shit and a lot of the time we were. Scots love living off scraps so why not kick the fucking ball to them all day long and not contest? Poor game plan, lack of flexibility and poor bench selection and use. Add to that some quite astounding individual skill errors and we were toast.

Well done Scotland. Calcutta Cup and Raeburn Shield.

This is a really disappointing post from an Englishman. Magnanimous, fair and honest.

Can you try to be more of fluffybunny next time ? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Catogrande

@MN5 I'm actually quite rude to real Scotsmen.

Catogrande

I'ver been giving a bit more thought to Borthwick's bench selection, in particular his choice of Fin Smith on the bench. If you're going for a 6-2 split it makes no sense not to have a utility back on the bench. With no cover from 11-14 any losses there will result in a complete re-shuffle of the backline with players playing out of position. Yes, I get it, we have players that "can do a job" in the centres but it's a big ask to do that for nearly a whole game. Will Greenwood hit the nail on the head in saying that if we lost a back 3 player it is a zero sum benefit selection. I'm guessing that the selection was based on wanting to give Fin Smith some game time at one point or another. If so that smacks of arrogance and when you're up against one of, if not the best, centre partnership in the 6N, it is really fatal arrogance.

Bones

@Catogrande long live Borthwick. He's doing a good job as a handbrake, England should be light years ahead with this player group. He's a coherent Razor.
