The penalties given for Brumbies ball being over the ball were so quick - so many were without the ball being lifted.

no clear release, and the tackler was often impleading the ruck in a lot of them... both teams

@kev totally agree no clear release on many of those turnovers on saying all that the Blues really should have iced that game when they were up 27-18

We would have if the breakdown was reffed properly.

Angus has got to be the most overrated ref around. Just because you communicate clearly doesn't absolve you of the bullshit hometown decisions he routinely hands out in Canberra.

Something very smelly with this refereeing.

Same across the whole comp at the moment all these pricks are useless.

Very true. It's not just one guy. The ref quality across the board is really poor.

All they do is boo and then that idiot comes to their aid.

But, having said that, I was impressed with the Blues tonight. Starting to warm into our work. Thought Christie had a solid night, Clarke was outstanding, and we stopped their threats for the most part.

Sadly, we have the Crusaders next, who we have a phobia next, so I'm not expecting much next week either.

Yep. No Caleb. Blues are going to be up against it big time.

sparky

Clarke, Papalii and Darry were all excellent.

Shameful refereeing performance tipped the balance in that one. The Brumbies are going to be very difficult to beat in Canberra if Aussie refs keep bailing them out like that

Just watched the highlights and couldn’t figure out why Zarn was carded even after a slo mo

Carded for the same infringement by the brumbies about 4 minutes later, which resulted in a scrum. That's how it works, right?

Canes4life

The Brumbies getting a good run with the refs at home has been known for a long time. I’d say the Canes playoff hopes wouldn’t have ended in Canberra for four out of the last five years if they were given a fair deal. The Brumbies always get a full Aussie reffing panel so I feel for the Blues and fans as it’s all too familiar.

Just ask Ardie how he feels about bullshit calls in Canberra.

Tim

One good thing from this game was the performance of the reserve props in the scrum.

@Tim Ofa struggled to deal with the height of his opponent Van Nek hence his elbow kept dropping

Yeah was a good shift from them. Mason Tupaea has another tough task next week, but I think he's done enough to earn himself a fulltime contract. He's improving. I'm liking what I'm seeing from some of our next generation.

Jailbreak7

Just watched it. Dont think the Blues played badly at all. Paps was outstanding..
They just got got on the wrong of Gardner and his rubbish reffing. Need to be more subtle with the street smarts, hopefully they would have learned from that going forward.

I agree we were unlucky with some of the ref calls as per the first game. Our bench is still struggling a bit to maintain momentum. It's improving. I do feel that we might be on the verge of something with this young team.

antipodean

I blame Perofeta. Part of a bang average halves pairing - his missed conversions and YC contributed as much as Gardner's typically shit refereeing.
