@frugby we’ll disagree on that but the team is incredibly poorly coached. Can we agree on that?

This isn’t the gotcha moment you think it is.

It isn’t about being proven right you dingo.

Justin is suck a cock

Canes4life

Well played Lakai, very good performance. Such an athlete.

Don’t be so touchy and I don’t think anyone on this forum cares about whether others think they’re right. All I’m getting at is there needs to be more criticism laid at Joseph’s feet

Canes4life

Superb kick and that’s the 50. Love player of the match and makes a statement.

Lakai and Flanders are the two form loosies at the moment

With Kirifi at openside that should def be our starting loose trio. Hopefully Flanderesess stays injury free he's been unlucky in that sense.

KiwiMurph

Canes a pleasure to watch.

Some ok individual performances for the Landers but just completely outclassed.

Might need to take a seat next week after going off with concussion but probably also needs a break. I’d start Shields, Kirifi and Lakai.

Well played canes, Landers were bloody awful!

Nice to see Love go well.

Hard to see any positives for the Lanaders

Taavao had a really good (long) shift. JRK showed glimpses of his former self. Lennox showed urgency (just not the rest of the play to back it up).

Oh and Taylor if you ignore the ropey lineouts.

Really rated how love played his hand in that game. First 60 he barely carried and distributed well. Then once fatigue set in he brought his running game. Also rated how he went out to the touch line to redeem a few earlier kicks on that last con

Jack Taylor still looked bloody good in that game. Having a hell of a season so far

Hugh Renton blaming the referee… FMD.

@frugby Lost by 43 points. The last thing I'd be blaming. Sounds like something Trent Robinson would say.

Bones

@Jet you can't even describe that as a mixed metaphor

Despite my anger, it did look like Ruben Love ran a bloody good ship last night. Played like an All Black First Five I thought.

He isn't a test fullback but he could well be the answer at 10.

Looked bloody good I thought, but also don't think we should under estimate how good it would be between Roigard and Barrett.

Love was solid in the first half but didn't really do a great deal. His line kicking is reasonable, but not particularly long.
The cross kick was a beauty - we are so used to seeing shit lobby ones from BB, that it is a treat to see one with a genuinely AFL-style flat trajectory giving the defence no time to scramble.
After the landers fell apart he ran a bit and threw some nice passes - which is good to see, but it is relatively easy to look good in that situation. Very promising performance nonetheless.

Watching the replay atm and Lasaga was lucky the TMO missed the punch he threw on Dearns after his stupid clean out that got him carded in the first place.

When the camera pans out after Lasaga cleans out Dearns, they have a bit of a scuffle and then you can see Lasaga throw a punch at the 59.09 min mark.

You can even hear Dearns say ‘he punched me ref’

How did they miss it? Lasaga should have got a red and should be suspended.

I think you’re clutching at straws a bit there. Love played his hand really well, conducted everything he needed to in the first half and then when the game opened up in the second stanza he started to use his running game and passing game to make inroads. Pretty damn classy performance for his first outing of the year in my view.

Regards to his kicking, pretty sure one of his clearing kicks went about 50 metres which certainly isn’t short.

I’m looking forward to seeing how he progresses at 10 going forward because it’s certainly a good start, especially when you factor in how he played there at the end of last season.

Tim

@Canes4life Haven't managed to watch a replay of that, but a straight shoulder to the head at a static ruck should be a red card. Two weeks in a row it isn't.

If you do, let me know what you think. He definitely threw a punch and it looked like it connected.
