@sparky Quinn has to be a lock in at 12 also the added bonus of being so damn good over the ball
Regardless of how poor the Tahs were this evening there was a touch of class about everything he did.

Is it just me or has Jacomb seemingly gone back in every area since he first hit the scene? Apart from hitting the gym it seems.

Looks great in the NPC. Always been underwhelmed by him above that level

Yet the Tahs 20 is ringer for Henry Pollock

Do all blonde white people look the same to you? Racist

Sexist as well. But perhaps you mean blond.

It isn’t even the colder months yet either which is when the Aus sides struggle even more. It seems the Aussie teams focus on the Aussie derbies and almost throw the NZ ones away other than the Brumbies.

Transtasman aura.

Yeah always wondered if I was missing something with the bloke. Like, he's Super Rugby standard, but I haven't been wowed by him so far.

Got overhyped coming through was the issue.

The midfield and Finau at 6 was the best part.

About time Carter is playing 13 regularly - with his weakness under the high ball and promise shown at 13 for BOP it's about time he's had a proper crack there.

Dan54

How bloody good was Ollie Norris tonight, his work rate was incredible!

A winger, a centre, and a lower level halfback, that's some versatility.

Dan54

Aren't Beaver and Cruden good on the panel ?

@Dan54 Cruden is excellent,Beaver can’t see past his own bias and started sounding like a fan boy
There’s a bit of Joel Stransky about the way Cruden calls games ,doesn’t say a lot but is right on the money when he does have something to say

The Chiefs best performance and result of the season so far. Lots to like from Sami T, Josh Lord, Bolshier, Finau and Narawa.

Quinn Tupaea was the pick of the bunch though. The best midfielder in New Zealand.

Narawa? Sparky for me the chiefs best outside was Taumoefolau

sparky

@Grooter Excellent pace for his second try. He'll be a key man for Tonga.

antipodean

Impressed by the forward pack of the Chiefs. Demolished the Tahs scrum. Lord had a very good game, as did Boshier whose physicality was a key reason the Chiefs were winning collisions. Speaking of collisions, Finau had an excellent game.

I think Jacomb is bang average and the Chiefs halfbacks are even worse. Roe is a Temu Christie - he's fucking appalling.

Add to that Coombes-Fabling.

Roe has really gone backwards from last year for me. He is mucking around at more rucks than not, and - despite a good bounce last night - his kicking has been pretty shit too.
Jacomb is about as average as BB, take that how you like.

would have put on 60 if Dmac was playing

Clean out at the second to last ruck was at a crazy angle

It's Doleman. Philip was taking out Chiefs players way in front of the ruck all game.

Playing really well, is Jacomb, if you disregard all the amateur/dumb shit he did, he took the ball to the line once and was very indirectly responsible for a try 15 phases after he passed it in another movement.

Bovidae

I've been saying all along that Finau should be starting ahead of Parker. He carries the ball with much more conviction, is quicker and can make dominant tackles. While Gibbes said that he has been rotating his loose forwards, Finau hasn't played a lot of minutes.

The scrum was a real weapon.

On Jacomb, his kicking is still his biggest weakness. No length in kicks for touch, has a habit of missing touch from penalties, and goal kicking is erratic.

Bones

@Bovidae that one that wasn't even 15m from touch was horrific. Just let Lord do the kicking if Jacomb is the alternative.

Tonga? Taumoefolau is trying to make the ABs (eligible later this year) - the whole reason he moved to the Chiefs

not to mention the bright lights of Hamilton!

sparky

@KiwiMurph Good pace for that 2nd try, but I'd need to see more of him to judge if he's All Black standard.

Did you not watch MP last year?

@Bovidae just seen a replay of that clean out leading up to the Chiefs try
It’s a shocker Chiefs player almost ended up square to the ruck I have no doubt there’s clean outs that get missed during a game but in a try scoring movement where the TMO would have seen that in the same time we all saw he chose to do nothing
Not having a crack at the Chiefs but the inconsistency we see during the try scoring process when it comes to illegal play
