No doubt - but let's be honest he played like a winger who went looking for work. If he was wearing 11 on his back he'd have heaps of praise for his attacking involvement. He was ineffective at rucks, absent off the side of the scrum and as helpful in mauls as any other back.
If the measure of his game is he plays like Ardie, then I don't consider that high praise. It may have worked for the Crusaders, in the same way playing Bill Young as a prop worked for the Wallabies - it does until it doesn't.
