Aumua stone walled three runners in about a minute there. Reminds me of something I used to say about Ravens Linebacker Ray Lewis back in his prime - when he hits you, you stay hit.

His performance against Ireland on 2024 EOYT was superb.

He brutalised them in the loose.

The Allblacks missed him big time in 2025.

Yeah he put a massive shift against both France and England.

When does Fehi's NH contract start?

Hopefully the cleverest lawyers in New Zealand are looking at ways to make his contract with Newcastle Red Bull disappear.

If you look at it from Fehi’s perspective. All black wings (traditionally) have a very short stint. He either plays this year and maybe lights the world on fire and, even bigger maybe, does the same in 2027. Earn an ok amount of coin. His peak is then perhaps behind him and in breaking his current contract, no other club will touch him. He’s then sat there wasting away in super. From a career and tactical perspective, he’d be an absolute fool to stay.

Still a shame

Massive shame, could be the next NMS without injuries. But good on him for taking the money

Crazy Horse

I just realised no one was binned in this game. Brilliant. Well done rugby.

Bollocks, if he stars at the RWC NMS style he'll easily pick up a contract.

BerniesCorner

Fineanganofo is 23 years old! I'm not getting some opinions on here

BerniesCorner

For the first time in a decade none of the 3 are certainties

Can see all 3 making a squad, , especially the youngers, BB would be good value backing up midweek.

Tend to think it would be quite a waste though - he's going to resemble Holwell on one leg by RWC time.

Warner Dearns is an unreal player. Knew he was an upgrade on our current locks but I didn't realise just how good he'd be. Legitimately a top 5 lock in the world imo and a complete player.

@Jet

He can't throw under pressure. I wish he could.

Im hoping he's pulling a Nonu and playing within himself so he can step up for international season.

But the concern is this is now his ceiling.

Jacomb, Millar and Reihana just haven't taken their opportunities.

Plummer was good but treated poorly.

Thst BB is still in the conversation is due more to a lack of better options than because he's tearing it up.

It's a neat theory and would be a pleasant surprise - reckon it's a pretty hard sell to a bunch of new selectors though.

"Hey boss, just wanted to let you know I'm not playing to my potential right now - saving myself for the big stuff. You'll see when you select me as starting ten. Thanks."

I thought Dan Carter did that before the RWC...

He's not going to suddenly learn how to punt with distance and accuracy.

It's over

There should be no fear with giving Love a go at 10 - it's not like he had this crazy high bar to reach of our recent AB 10 play. Just give the lad a proper crack.

But being serious, my memory is seriously failing me if DC phoned it in for 3 years before a WC and that included a new coaching team in the middle.

True, the alternative, that this is now his ceiling, but we have a lack of other options, is almost as bad.

We have such a full calendar this year. Even if he doesn't start straight away, there should be plenty of opportunities to see him in the run on team, and playing meaningful minutes off the bench

Love should have been off the bench 2 years ago, and starting a number of games last year.

Recent ABs coaches have been cr@p at building 10 depth.

Waiting for RMo isn't a plan.

Agreed.

I'm taking a positive view

Given how little rugby Love has played at 10 he looks bloody good. He can help transform the ABs attack.

I'm thinking he's currently the best option.

A couple of years ago I was hoping it would be Perofeta, but he's perma crocked and it just never happened.

TheMojoman

Love looks the goods, in dominant Canes team but we won’t know how good until he gets time in the AB 10 jersey.

Id still have him in the 23...even have him and Codie on the field at the same time in last 20 if needs be.

Bring him on for a loosie if you have to. His impact is huge.

He is one of our only players who stops people dead in contact.

@SouthernMann Wrong. Someone on an All Blacks top contract will earn more than someone at Newcastle Red Bull.

Feels like a long time since we've seen a NZ winger in Fineanganofo's form.

Big, strong, fast and good on the feet.

Do we pick him this year for the ABs and deal with next year, next year?

I am starting to think he is the player I am waiting for Clarke to be.

What! Clarke has been good too. I know it's hard to praise Blues players these days but come on, Clarke is a world class winger as well.

BerniesCorner

Fucking hell, it's got nothing to do with praising, not praising Blues players. I don't give a rats about where players are from.

Although, I am yet to form an opinion on Fineanganofo's ability under the high ball.

Yeah well come on, it was more your wording on Caleb Clarke, you made him out like he's still trying to find his feet at this level lol.

And yes I am on the Fineanganofo bandwagon. I remember his performance in round 1 against the Crusaders last year thinking he had a lot going for him. Didn't think he'd explode like this though!
