Blues forwards playing well. Too bad their 10 is kicking all their ball away

Yeah BB is having a shocker.

A good first half performance by the Hurricanes, but I am still wary of a Blues comeback.

Canes need to shut the door. They need to learn to be ruthless.

KiwiMurph

@canefan said in Blues v Hurricanes:

What a waste. Now we give up extra metres

And it makes no difference cos this Blues team is way outclassed

Had two chances to get more points and spilled it

Unless the 2024 Blues come out after halftime they are no chance

antipodean

Fucks sakes O'Keefe- he's literally on his knees and grabs the ball in front of you.

KiwiMurph

Haha Harkin playing the ball on the ground directly in front of BOK

Play on....

Canes4life

Fuck that’s brutal rugby. That’s how to be ruthless.

Bones

Not lost anything having Enari instead of Roigard....righto

Really similar to blues a couple of years ago

KiwiMurph

Have those worried about a Blues comeback actually watched the Blues this year?

canefan

That was a quality half of rugby

Tim

Blues look clueless. Just making so many mistakes.

antipodean

Tuipulotu is doing nothing out there. Is he injured?

He went down twice in the first 10 mins. Looked like he took a ding early

Does Cotterball have the ability to catch up 21 points from behind?

It seems be very based around getting in an arm wrestle and suffocating the opposition. Which is hard to do when you're that far behind.

Reckon we could’ve been at least 2 tries up by now

Not when his forwards are losing the contest.

African Monkey

Some of our older players seem to be struggling.

The positive view

Beauden is playing so shit I am increasingly hopeful his AB 10 days are over

Everyone outside the Fern seems to love BB. He's untouchable until proven otherwise

From what I’ve been told there’s a different view on him from what the last regime had

I fucking hope so

He's so far past it that it isnt funny

Laura Mcgoldrick is surely there for her looks as opposed to her rugby brain no idea

My ears hurt after listening to these bafoons.

I'd rather listen to her than you or Justin Marshall.

Yeah, what's the deal with that? Refs seem to be letting players already on the ground play the ball this season.

sparky

A high quality half of rugby from the Canes to be fair, although they've not put this one to bed yet.

Any time the ball goes to Beauden it turns to sh#t.

KiwiMurph

I realise wing isnt really the problem in this game but how has Saunoa not got a chance this season with Blues (predictably) dire need at wing?

Landers92

Got bumped off towards the end of the half by Delaney and was holding his shoulder. Looked like a stinger but assuming it’s more with what happened earlier in the half

nostrildamus

They didnt flake in 06. They made a final with Gopperth at 10 and lost in a fog final to Carter and McCaw.

Yeah it's like the 1960s. If you saw the game you weren't there.

Blues forwards being out forwarded.

And they have no backs to make up for it.

sparky

Anton Segner has been the best of the Blues so far.

What we are seeing is the bi product of a very limited game plan I said this last year and I will say it again.
If a pack stands up to the Blues and takes away their pick and go and clean dominance there’s very little creativity from 10 out throw in an aging once great player who longer runs at the line and this what you get
Caleb Clark can only dream about getting into open space I have no doubt he would flourish in the Canes backline
Sotutu looks like he checked out last year personally I would have just given the 8 jersey to Barnes or Wrampling

For me this also calls into questioning the coaching of Vern Cotter
He should be congratulated for taking the Blues for their title in 2024 but it was’nt pretty rugby and he needed to come with a new trick
For me this last 2 years was a great opportunity to introduce more youngsters and freshen the team dynamic
