Tim

A few Chiefs forwards secured AB selections?

The attack died with Jacomb again

It Was lackluster since the second half kicked off and before he came on if we are being fair

jimmyb

@KiwiMurph McMillian had to play against a competent Crusaders team

Donsteppa

So we get to live through another final....

mariner4life

Nice win.

I look forward to losing our 4th straight final.

The Buffalo Chiefs

Tim

Fourth consecutive final. Hope Tupaea is available.

Lord has really staked a claim this year, as well as Sami. If Jacobson had been playing like today all season he'd be AB captain.

Tim

@mariner4life At least Kyle Brown will be back from concussion break?

Canes4life

Well played Chiefs. Exceptional first half.

Landers92

Jacobson said no jitters and by god did he mean it. Incredible from the chiefs really. Jacobson man of the match for me, absolute mad man. Dmac very impressive. Back 3 looked great as well. Hopefully nothing serious for Hutch

Donsteppa

"4th time lucky?" Hmmm...

Tim

Next week's final to decide the starting 10 for the ABs?

I really like the thought of Love's patient, methodical game for 50-60 with DMac lighting it up in the final 20-30

Bones

Chiefs with "Dmac 150" on the inside of their jersey?

Didn't this happen before? Three years ago when they looked on fire and focused against the canes in the semi only to turn up like lambs to the slaughter in the final against the Blues.

Who was coaching?

Belt to ass, so proud. Now to get over the hump pls

antipodean

@Tim hopefully it's already decided. I don't think DMac was particularly brilliant tonight.

The first half was largely other players making the most of opportunities and the bounce of the ball.

Second half where you'd expect game managers to assert themselves, it was a dog fight.

jimmyb

@Bones nothing a coach can do against the joint world rugby players of the year Akria and Hoskins

If he hadn’t locked in an AB jersey yet, he did with that performance. Exactly what we need in the ABs.

jimmyb

@Bones Reiko as in the Leinster winger?

mariner4life

@antipodean Dmac showed a passing and instinct game no one else in NZ has.

I would start him at 15.

@jimmyb said in SF: Chiefs v Crusaders:

@Tim is suspect this is anti-Robertson more than anti-CLW. He’s been one of the more consistent loose forwards this year. He outplayed the Chiefs loosies last year and one game where his team is falling to pieces is hardly an indication. Unless of course you want to use the same logic with Dmac and shitting the bed for the past 4-5 years and this is the one outlier

To be fair I do apply that logic to Dmac. And he still has the final to prove me right

jimmyb

@mariner4life ahhh the dual play maker system that’s worked so well in the past 7-8 years. Yes please

mariner4life

Also I'm back on the Finau train. He has the tools and the size

game_film

Weighed. Measured. Found wanting.

No? Chiefs won that game due to Sititi brilliance not a full demolition

No, but hey you go with what you want.

Your 15 needs to be able to run, pass, kick and bring his outsides in to the game, who does that better than DMac?

It is possible to set a team up with role clarity you know.

game_film

First ABs vs Wallabies test came early this year. This one will linger in the minds of the selectors.

jimmyb

@mariner4life for the first time we have a few actual fullbacks playing well and we want to instead go with a 10 that’s ok at 15? If Dmac is in the side, play him at 10 or not at all

He's also brave under the high ball

mariner4life

Who are these fullbacks?

DMac is the perfect impact 10/15 from the bench with 30 mins to go. He’s the best player in NZ at cutting tired defences to shreds.

jimmyb

@Canes4life or at 22/23. I think that would compliment the team best. Not at 15

Dmacs ability to pass to space is unmatched .

In saying that if Jordan is out, DMac is probably my 15. Harkin and Hutchinson have been the other fullbacks that have been very good this year.

Would be pretty cool to see Love and DMac play together to be fair.
