Was worried the changes to the team were going to backfire then. With hindsight, paid off, crazy depth in that squad but some youngsters not quite ready. What happened to defence around the ruck?

Wasn't referring to Rennie, even though I was pretty disappointed with the squad that he named. Could have included a couple of younger players instead of the proven failures. But it's early days for him...

Boks 2nd team pretty impressive seeing off the Scots. they really do the basics very very well. Kick accurately, scrum powerfully, defend like demons and attack with accuracy when chances come. They are a formidable beast and its going to take a very powerful, accurate and relentless AB team to be able to beat them in August. Rassie is a genius.

You can expect a totally different team against Wales. Debuts for Jooste, Mojo, Ruben van Heerden, Sadie plus return from Etsebeth, Kolisi more time for Hooker, Moodie, Reinach, AE. SFM and Krappies also back in training this week

That's exactly why we need to play high tempo and move them around the park as much as possible.

No point trying to play them at their own game. If we can get our game going, I can't see some of their massive bodies lasting further than halftime.

The big issue will be getting the ball off them.

Scotland could and perhaps should have won that. Their tactics probed Bok weaknesses extremely well. Their critical failing was not finding a way to accumulate some points in the first 15 of the second, despite having Boks very rattled. Looking at the stats alone you'd never guess Scotland lost.

This sort of epitomizes Scotland. They can never quite make the advantage count. It’s almost like they can’t believe it could happen. A bit like Ireland for most of their history…. So there is hope for them

I think more than any previous bok coach, he did. Picking siya as captain was inspired. Look at how the age group makeup of SA teams has changed. It’s been transformational for sure.
