Just been told ‘don’t be surprised to see Leicester named in the loose forwards this week’. Unsure how reliable as it’s through a mate, he’s usually in the know but it just doesn’t exactly sound believable. Thought it was definitely worth a share anyway and get some chat going before super round!

It would be a strange call,Short on backs atm,a loose Forward would need to be dropped, but with this coaching staff who would know.Fihaki,Havilli touch and go if he will play,Jordan,Ennor all out.
I know James Marshall is keen to play him there.

Landers92

@Chris yeah honestly he could be having his tit pulled but I thought it was too good not to share. Either way I think the Crusaders will thump the tahs

Worth the share it may happen. Marshall has been going on about it for a couple of weeks.
I hope so for me it's a must win.

Maybe they are trying to flush out spies by releasing bad intel? 😜

Duluth

Possibly they think this is the last chance to experiment? Canes, Blues, Chiefs, Canes after this

KiwiMurph

They may want some more size in the ball running in the loosies vs a fairly big Tahs pack - likes of clw and mathis aren't giants

I think your contact maybe spot on,I hear there are a few back Havilli,McLeod and I think Ennor all in the 23.
Preston and maybe Taylor who is not far away.
Blackadder back next week.

No Quarter

Has Leicester played in the loose before? It may be a better fit for him as he tends to really struggle defending the wider channels at centre.

Ball security may be even more of an issue though - to look at it positively, it's a good way for him to work on it, make 20 carries running against fatties.

Put Saifoloi in the 23. Or is he injured?

Yeah he played a season for Toulon last 30 mins of games in the Loose Forwards.

It's a potentially bloody useful thing for a bench player. Covers an injury to centre or wing, but in the absence of injury can come on for a tiring loosie.

African Monkey

Really? So this guy has been bought back from overseas and is now being used as a loose forward? I never used to rate the guy, but I've been impressed with Gardiner of late, and Lio-Willie is a lock in for the 8 jersey, unless there's injuries?

Leicester looked a bit sluggish to me on Saturday, but with so many guys out, would you not keep the guy who is supposedly locked in to the ABs 13 spot where he is?

Bones

He did seem to not turnover ball on every carry last week, so maybe they've been working on it.

On the face of it though, this seems retarded. Still, makes for an interesting watch I guess!

JayCee

should be fun (intense) a game with a packed crowd at the new stadium and both sides fighting to stay in the playoff hunt

Mathis must be wrapped to coming down there

Crazy Horse

Maybe the Scots are sniffing around Mathis too!

taniwharugby

You'd be pretty frustrated if you were an actual 7 in that squad.

Chris

Leicester Fainga'anuku, at 7 this will be interesting one of his strengths is getting on to the ball for turn overs he is hard to move.
This may go down in history as the biggest most stupid mistake EVER made by the Crusaders, or a piece of pure genius.
Intriguing to say the least.
I have no idea which one it will be.

Or neither of these two things and a footnote in future.

and thought the craziest thing crusaders have done was the team they run out last week.Next week they may have topped it

I think it's an interesting punt. He has quite a high error rate though - particularly around defence which isn't ideal for 7.

@taniwharugby

There are virtually no trad 7s on SR rosters atm.
The coaches dont seem to be deeming them as essential, and did not bother with any of the NPC25 7s.

Was wondering how the teams were going to fill this position as the season rolled on.
So a move like this is not overly surprising.
The SR26 hookers are starting to look more like a trad 7 than the other SR26 looseforwards do.
Leicester will be fine; except maybe at lineout time, that might be worth a watch.

Someone like Mathis probably would have had more chance at making a full SR roster this season as a winger.

Thats a fair call actually. The only outright 7s getting gametime currently would be Kirifi and Lasaqa.

Good to see that someone else is right on it.

Super Round roll call? I'm going down and I'm fizzing.

'The Crusaders have lost their last three Super Rugby Pacific matches against Australian opposition; a fourth consecutive defeat in this game would be their outright longest losing run against Australian teams in Super Rugby history.'

Not sure if here is the right place but Sky Sport are offering a free 24 hour pass so people can enjoy watching the new stadium.
