@booboo Cambos win was an odd one.
Not to belittle it, but he was almost last man standing, BUT, he beat pretty much prime Tiger Woods to get his major, so cannot be understated.
As I said in the other thread, the way he kept attacking to win makes Foxys more significant IMO.
What was it, 82nd after round 1, 56th after round 2, 2nd after round 3.
He coulda dropped his lip when he had to play backwards from the bunker as some players do, which to me is the moment you really thought he could do this, then the attack mode on 18, to WIN the title rather than what most would have done and thought par here, playoff, against a pretty good field too.
Yeah my feeling with Cambo is that was a freak result.

I put this above Campbell simply because the Open is a bigger tournament, second only to the Masters in my view.
It was really special, mainly because the group I watched it with were all gunning for him big time, and I was the only kiwi. I’ve been getting messages globally from pals saying how much they loved it.
He comes across as a fast playing, honest, no bullshit guy. The latter two, things NZ folk pride themself on being.
Perhaps a big over the top, but it really feels like one if us, took on the bullshit indulged yank golfers, and beat them. Incredibly satisfying.

He plays like he's out for a regular Sunday round. I saw a video on FB timing his tee shot compared to Patrick Cantlay. From address to impact Fox took about 8 secs compared to Cantlay's 38
I saw a post on social media saying they should pair Foxy with Ludvig Aberg each tournament and Cantlay and Harman as the next to go and if they fall more than a hole behind they receive a 2 stroke penalty. Watching Cantlay and Harman play is almost unbearable
