Warriors play there
if this was rugby we would be looking at endless replays of the tackles on Lolohea to see if it was late, if there was a shoulder...instead, ref made a call and got on with things.
The Tongans needed that score off the penalised Michael Jennings pass. The poms are playing professional footy the way we should have done
I'm the first to admit that I don't know much about league, but why didn't they go to the TMO after that last play to check whether the English player stripped the ball from the Tongan player and the following try (or no try)?
There will be riots in Otahuhu tonight.
@Stargazer The English player didn't play at the ball so it's a loose carry (=knock-on).
I'm 50/50 on whether it was a strip or Fifita just carried the ball loose, but the ref should have gone to the TMO to double check.
Australia V England. Prediction: Australia 47 England 6

A check would have just seen the same result as it was just a loose carry and the English player was just making a tackle, and the Aussie Islander Indigenous Bogan would have done his nut a few minutes later.
Damn, Taumalolo would have been able to carry even the Kidwell coached Kiwis to the final (if Kidwell let him on the field).
What about using the TMO to check other things then? I remember the ref calling a knock-on at the play-the-ball when it was clear the marker punched the ball out. That happens a lot so I think the officials believe that the onus is on the ball-carrier to hold onto the ball securely.

I think the Tongan's got the rough end of the stick with the 50/50 calls in the match.
