Blake green could be a good signing ,
Probably flies under the radar a bit , good decision maker

Missed a tackle he should of made for that try just then.
Warriors up to their old tricks.
Give away a silly penalty, Rabbits score.
Give away a silly penalty a couple tackles after the kick off and give them field position again.
And then another on their own 10m line just for good measure.
Kata and Maumolo picking up right where they left off by jamming in and creating an over lap for the Rabbits that was not actually there. They score and it's now level 10-10. Those two players lost us multiple games last season.
And if our discipline this first 40min of the season is an indication of Kearney hard line approach this season hard line means something entirely different to what I thought it meant. 7-1 penalty count with 11min to against us. Ffs honestly. Ffs.
And just like that the Warriors strike, and what’s more the bunker has overturned the on field call to give it.
That just doesn’t happen with the Warriors, WTF have they been feeding g the guys in the bunker in the off season?
Oh wow!
Johnson creates a try from nothing on half time.
Without getting carried away, there have been some promising signs in this first half - mixed with the usual facepalm moments to keep us grounded.
Johnson and Fusitua create some vintage warrior magic. What about the pick up.
But I'm not going to believe in anything until round 5...
What were the odds that it’d be the Warriors benefiting from a refereeing howler just short of half time.... !!

Leading at half time by 10. Most unexpected
Totally going to stuff my round of work comp tipping but happy to see some very positive signs. Souths look under done and have yet to really show their hand. Inglis, Gagai, The Burgess brothers and a fit Adam Reynolds aren't going to be out of it for long.

About 50,000/1
The true story about this years version of the Warriors will come out in the 2nd half.
We saw them in front at half time on several occasions last year, just to completely fold in the second.
40 minutes to see if anything has changed.
Yesss boy.
Maumalo no issues catching that one.
Warriors showing more creativity in the first 50 minutes of this game than they showed the entire 2017 season.
Tohu an improvement over that other ex Melbourne bloke we used to have whose name I can't remember.
Dumb from Kata, giving away a penalty like that after a team warning.
Really fucking dumb.
And Souths are in.
Nice change to see the Warriors looking like an NRL team and Souths looking like, well, the Warriors...
This has been all over the show, Maulmalo gets an intercept and nearly runs to the Warriors line, then Johnson takes a hit up because what are the forwards doing, then Green kicks a 40/20, then unsurprisingly the Warriors turn it over. Nuts.
I will say it now, I like the energy, the talking, the back slapping and the playing for each other. Have not seen this in years.
Green is exactly the player Johnson needed. He is the structured but creative half we need and allows Johnson roving commission.

Also the leadership. After scoring points we’ve seen the Warriors in a tight huddle with the leaders urging the lads to keep focused.
You don’t win the NRL in round 1, but these are some of the more promising signs from the Warriors we’ve had in years.

Alex convo , ex storm and broncos strength and conditioning coach looks to be a massive signing as well , cant remember the warriors looking like this in round 1
A win. Not readinv much in to it, because the rabbits are a bit shit.
Adam Blair ia going to he such a massive bust. Fuck how dumb?
Same old Johnston. Commentators pulling him off for running a blind alley and kicking it dead.
Still, it's two points and breaks an 8 month losing streak
Jesus - the Warriors win their season opener.
Which means Souths lose to the Warriors in Round One.
A long season, Russelll...a lonnnng season!
@mariner4life I think thats a pretty harsh mark on Johnson. He was dynamite tonight.
Agree on Blair. I think by round 8 he'll be coming off the bench.

I actually think he’ll be better for us in that role off the bench. But we paid massive overs for him so he needs to earn that $600K pa by playing minutes.....
Warriors win away.... in Perth?

Holy sweetbaby bajesus, the Warriors won in Perth!
The big take-away: Unlike last year, the Warriors looked like they were actually trying. This might be because, unlike the past several years, the Warriors looked match fit. Not fit-fit as in "how many abs do I have?" but match fit as in "I can play the full 80 if need be".
I'll be honest - without Mannering I expected the Warriors defensive middle to crumble. Yet it got stronger as the game went on. A lot of this was due to Isaac Luke playing his best game in a Warriors jersey so far, he was a pest with and without the ball. James Gavet also provided some much needed mongrel in the middle.
Players to note: The new guys all did their bit. Tohu Harris was Tohu Harris. Leivaha Pulu provided some experience off the bench. Peta Hiku was reliable and worked well with Fusitua (two awesome tries).
Blake Green was the obvious stand out and seems to be what Jeff Robson was suppose to be in 2016 - the straight man in Shaun Johnson's act.
Adam Blair made some dumb penalties and while Kata got sent off, it was Blair who put them in that position. There is a difference between playing dirty and playing smart. Luke and Gavet played smart today while Blair played dirty.
The real MVP: The MVP today was Isaiah Papali'i. It was about 20 minutes into the game that I remembered Papali'i was wearing the number 11 jersey and not Pulu. He's only 19 years-old yet was playing like a 10-year wily veteran.
What about the other guys?: As for the Bunnies, they looked buggered after 50 minutes. Alex Johnston was shit at fullback and probably played his last game there while the key playmakers were rusty.
WTF was that?: The breathing exercises the Warriors did after each try was very new-age and hippy. You know the Matty Johns show will be taking the mickey out of it on Monday. But hey, if it works soon all the teams will be doing it. I might even start doing it at work.
@Sneakdefreak hitch up that bandwagon and I'll jump on board, the BCs bandwagon crashed and burned in dramatic fashion yesterday.
