Mankading is a funny one. Despite the outrage that always comes with it, I don't have a problem with it. The non striker should keep their ground.

Interestingly, it's not the first time that Buttler has been dismissed this way. Last time he got a warning first and was then run out in an international vs Sri Lanka. I wonder if he has a reputation amongst players for trying it on too much?

I've played club cricket in Asia where the batsmen are half way down the wicket upon release. Big shit fight if mankad rule is not recognized.

Just watched the video and that is all round awful cricket. Buttler's backing up wasn't offensive but he was caught napping big time, and Ashwin was totally cynical 'possibly premeditated.

I'd compare this Mankading to McCullum running out Murali when he walked down the pitch to celebrate Sangakkara's ton despite the ball not having been returned back to the keeper by the fielder. Pretty sloppy by the batsman, but some will definitely feel the spirit has been diluted a bit . . .

@Virgil I was thinking that but the round Robin means you've got time to settle on a first XI.
