Well played Uruguay, they showed up fit, well drilled and played with a lot of heart. Fiji just made so many errors and looked nothing like the team that played V Australia.
well done Uruguay.
Ive only got one eye on it as I'm allegedly participating in a global leadership videoconf but from what I saw Fiji looked poor. Not a team - looked like they rated themselves too high and underated the puny Sth Americans.
To their detriment
A well-deserved, gutsy win! Hats off to Uruguay! This can only be good for rugby, esp in South America.
I don't know what was wrong with Fiji. Sure, it's their second game in less than a week, but fatigue can't be the reason. They made mistakes right from the start of the game. Maybe they underestimated Uruguay?
Uruguay have done really well in this match, esp if you consider that Fiji had a much better preparation with tests against Pacific Nations Cup opponents like Japan, USA and the other PI Nations as well as the Maori ABs, while Uruguay crushed a Brazil XV, lost to and beat an Argentina XV, and played Nations Cup games against countries like Namibia and Russia in June.
Hah just trying to show all the gutsy big defensive moments by Uruguay. Instead all the highlights show Uruguay getting away with all sorts of on the ground and offside penalty offences.

I'm a bird watcher so I'm going for the Southern Lapwings. 27-17 Uruguay.
I'm a bird watcher too, so I'm going for Scarlett JOhanssen.

All hail our new overlord dm.
The captain, Gaminara, is listed as 1.75 m according to wiki. The shortest flanker at the RWC I'd say.
