The Cheika midas touch, from Premiership to out in straight sets...

Ted is with the Warriors, or at least was last year - weird year.

Pretty sure they've both missed the actual guy you want out of the Cartel.

ACT Crusader

Cowboys close to signing Benji...

Offer of $150k for the season.

African Monkey

@ACT-Crusader Obviously didn't get an offer to join the fox sports team then....

For $150K Iโ€™m not sure Benji will rock up to one training let alone a game!

Siam

Still Red vs blue but slightly less feral than the election?

Kicks off soon in front of a bloke and his dog as spectators

Siam

Apologies, a decent crowd . I probably know more names in the stands than in the Queensland team

westcoastie

on my god. everything in this game - "thats an Origin tackle", "thats an Origin try", "thats reward (a try) for back to back to back sets of 6 on defence" - fuck. its the same game as the final, as any international, its not any different for christ sake

Tim

NSW very committed to one out running in this half. Queensland doing much more with the ball. Good try.

If there was a drinking game for every time one of those happened, you'd die

raznomore

This is one of the most un-Origin games Iโ€™ve ever watched. Itโ€™s got about as much feeling as a city country game.

That said as an 8 year Queenslander I can say with all honestly I donโ€™t know who the fuck any of you fluffybunnies are but fuck the nsw fluffybunnies right in the ass.

By half time!

Good game though

ARHS

Great match. Gagai grows an extra set of legs for origin and brimson outplayed tedesco. NSW halves were too easily contained which made the difference to me

mariner4life

Queenslander!!!

DCE was shit hot for once. Qld hung in there to half time, then rinced them in the 2nd 40.

Cody walker looked like he was the guy that might steal it, but Qld hang on.

ACT Crusader

Forgot this was even on having been watching 18 hours of US election coverage...

Just caught up with it not knowing the result and it didnโ€™t really have the origin feel to it - lacking atmosphere, edginess, big moments.

That finish was a bit dodgy with the Kaufusi binning and him not walking off and time off not coming straight away. The ref not alert to that 5 man tackle/pile on at the end either.

Dude, get a life

( says MN5 after waking up and logging straight onto the fern )

antipodean

Remarkably insipid display of football. NSW looked lazy and stupid, again.

Paekakboyz

wtf, the GREATEST GAME IN THE UNIVERSE was on and I missed it. Shit.

Siam

@Paekakboyz repeat the word "origin" 78 times and you're all caught up.

Gould even used it as a verb!

Bovidae

Was Gould still bitching about the final? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Despite the scoreline and the full time siren going, Gus says the Blues are still actually on top.

NSW Are Still On Top Here Explains Gus
WENDELL HUSSEY | Cadet | CONTACT
The Blues are on top here, Gus Gould has just revealed.
This comes after 80 minutes of average football where Queensland have actually won 18-14.
Despite the scoreline and the full time siren going, Gus says the Blues are actually on top.
โ€œTheyโ€™ve got all the momentum, this bodes perfectly.โ€
โ€œIf not for this match, the series at the least.โ€
โ€œThe Blues are all over them.โ€

Do they still churn him out before each game to wank on about how we're about to witness the greatest thing in the history of all great things ?

Fuck he's a bore.

Donsteppa

Queensland missing too many 1 on 1 tackles in their 20 so far in Origin II. Queensland scored the first try, but 18 unanswered points to NSW going into half time has it on track for a cricket score, barring a half time miracle from Wayne Bennett.

westcoastie

@Donsteppa Phil Gould will come out shortly and say that he feels QLD is on top here, despite the scoreline.
Game missing something. Origin intensity maybe. Bring back the biff

Some punches thrown and two binned.

ARHS

Haas is an idiot. Red card material in Union. Isn't Josh Addo Carr amazing tonite?

ORRRRRRRRRRJN PUNCHES!

The multiple head high tackles that go through to the keeper would do more damage than the punches thrown.

ARHS

@ACT-Crusader Jake Friend took a heavy head blow but was allowed to play on.

ACT Crusader

How pedestrian is Cherry-Evans?

ARHS

Yes. Roles reversed from last week for many. Tupou was pedestrian last week and dynamite this one. Saifiti and Papalii were great both games though. What about the work rate of Tedesco and Addo Carr?

mariner4life

well fuck aye.

Firstly, the absolute deadshits carrying on during the minutes silence can die in a fire. Feral fuckheads

2nd. That was a pumping. I was optimistic when NSW started well, Qld took the shots, then scored first. But after that NSW were relentless. The didn't make an error, just squeezed the life out of Qld, who did well to hang in to half time (sort of). But the writing was on the wall. The Blues attacked with so much pace, and Qld couldn't do anything about it.

But that NSW defense was something else. Fast, aggressive, and accurate. I don't think I've seen a tackle that would have hurt more than the shot Trbojevic put on Xavier Coates. When they pinned Qld in the same corner for about 4 sets in a row it was incredible play.

Cleary was playing on the front foot all night, but he was incredibly good. The early kick options even when they were rolling were brilliant (backed up by great chase), and he was dangerous when he ran.

For Queensland, i honestly don't know what they do from here. They two new forwards that came in are a mile from being good enough, so they need to hope Christian Welsh is better, and they still need to find someone else. Friend, for all his work, throws momentum killing passes set after set. Munster needs to be fit, because wow, look, Ben Hunt isn't very good. Capewell in the centres is having a real dig, but his glaring lack of pace snuffed out a few opportunities last night. Sami is not really good enough. Was Valentine Holmes playing?

The first game was such an aberration, because the players Qld has available who weren't great in the regular season, are proving to not be very good in the post season. What the first game did was paper of the huge cracks in the Qld side, while also give the Blues a massive kick up the ass.

Also i got 3 legs of my big odds multi, and dipped out on the 4th because i had NSW 12 and under.

bayimports

The loss of Munster was huge, Queensland lost a lot in attack when he didnt come back on, he is also so vocal he would have organised the defence better as well. Especially marking up off scrum plays. In saying that the speed of Teddy and finishing of Addo Carr were incredible.

Clearly had an amazing kicking game, would he have gone so well under pressure? Anyway at least we have a cliff hanger next week.

Oh for those tracking the warriors. It appears they have signed Marcelo Montoya from the Bulldogs and Sean Sullivan on a train on agreement from Brisbane

Origin 3 tonight. NSW very short favourites

Qld Premier has done her bit by not only locking out all the filthy mexicans from Sydney, but also allowing 40,000 in to Suncorp. Atmosphere should be hostile, and hopefully we get another stink or two early on.

Origin really is the world's premier sporting event (for midweek stubbies).

I'll no doubt have a 4-leg same game multi on later.
