He's a great player. But is he going to do the grunt work down low? Probably not. I guess you could argue that GS did it without a legitimate big man (sorry Andrew, Ja Vale and Co.), but who else has done it? The Clippers? The Rockets? The Cavs had LBJ so all bets are off

Alongside Lebron he is the most capable player in the NBA today of getting any shot he wants
Harden is tricky to shoehorn in. He is a ball dominant shooting guard, who doesn't seem keen to get engaged off the ball when he doesn't have possession. Can play defence if he is in the mood but not known for it. He needs a big man and shooters around him. Kind of what he had pre-micro ball in HOU but with higher quality players. He loves the 3 too much for my liking, and I don't like his general aesthetic and the way he generates fouls

Kyrie and Harden are very similar players. Hybrid guards that really are score first options. Yeah Harden gets assists but if you look at a lot of them they are kick out to 3-ball shooters when the defence collapses. He used to run a lot of pick n roll with Capella but that was it.

The thing about today’s NBA it’s really a game of creating mismatches and exploiting them. So the more options you have that can do that the better chance you are. Kyrie and Harden are in the top 10 in that regard and KD in the top 3!

Sounds like they are blowing the Rockets up. Westbrick wants out, which might be tough given what the Rockets paid for him/are paying him. I just read that Harden to the Nets is a real possibility?
CP3 from the Thunder to the Suns
Talk has ramped up in a possible Wall and Westbrook swap. Wall has possibly the worst contract in the NBA...
Just catching up on the CP3 news, OKC get Rubio, Oubre, Ty Jerome, Jalen Lecque and draft compensation.
CP3 must hold some sort of NBA record for the total number of players involved in his trades over the years.

I never thought Hampton looked all that good in teh NBL, certainly didn't do anything to the level that Ball did.

Another lost season
Google Steve Adams potential trade it's pretty interesting the potential three team deals to get him to the celtics. Basically direct to celtics or Adams and jj to tics thunder get three of this year's rookies plus a million picks and pels get Hayward and someone else. Or one via the clippers celtics and thunder.

Not a good endorsement of the NBL with Ball going lower than expected too. There were a number of PGs taken ahead of Hampton but the criticisms of his outside shooting and defence seem fair.
I don't think where Ball was drafted was due to him playing in the NBL. He was never going to be a fit for the Warriors so he was either going 1 or 3.

Ball really was only going to be 1 or 3 so I think he’s done very well for a guy that is an inconsistent shooter but a very good passer and more of a team guy than his brother.
Have to say there was a lot more emotion in this years draft than I can remember ever. Maybe it was the lockdowns in certain states or the fact that they were with families and away from all the glitz, but it was something.
Not a great draft by any stretch but there could be a couple of gems in there.
No one jumped out. There was one guy in the top 10, great defender, aggressive above the rim, seemed to have a great attitude. Attitude and desire are hard to see but very valuable
LAL sign Montrezl Harrell, hopefully improving their bench and weakening the Clippers at the same time
That’s 2 out of the 3 best 6th men of last season. They are going deep. Which means they are going for a dynasty.
