Whats happening with the postponed game

Too late to change the form so it will just be ignored - if I'm in a good mood, everyone gets 10 for that game, neutral mood everyone gets 5, as it is a long weekend it is very unlikely I will be grumpy and give everyone 0.

so closest game should be a no result right? Im shit at margins so need all the extras I can get lol

I'll make a call depending on how many select that game. This competition used to be much simpler!

It's only @broughie who's picked that so far

If he picks something else it should be ok?

broughie

@Duluth that figures. The game that was going to propel me front running status is postponed.

You can post your choice for closest game on here if you want and I will adjust your entry. Only other one is Richie who has Moana as low scorers - @Joan-and-Mary can you get another choice posted onto the thread?

KiwiPie

Everything is up to date at https://www.thesilverfern.com/tipping/ and next week's tipping form is live. Keep an eye out for any postponements and tip again if you can as I'll use your latest tips.

Because of the Moana v Force game being postponed, I awarded a total of 10 points for that game and the category picks for Fewest Points and Closest game as that game was already selected. The other 2 category picks were scored as usual.

5/5 games picked correctly for Tim, Hurrycanes, Donsteppa, GT12, Victor, Machpants, DK, Mikey07, TR, J77 and Dogmeat. 4 maximums for Rico#1. Top scorers were Victor and Mikey07 with 59 points. Stockcar86 picked both available categories (Chiefs for top scorers and Crusaders as biggest margin) for 57 and Dogmeat scored 56 (mentioned as usually his scores of note are the lowest ones).

No real change at the top, just Winger jumped above Plastered Peni into 4th and Canesforlife vaulted above Higgins into 8th.

In the Teams comp, just one more week to go and Canes Gold and Barbarians are definitely into the semis while Blues A have faint chances of knocking out BOP Chiefs or Canes Black.

Finally in the TSF Cup, wins for Tim and John Nolan who will meet in one semi-final and GT12 who will meet either Hydro11 or KP in the other semi - they will replay starting with the first game next week.

almost as big a shock as Pumpkin beating Pho.

I'm still in denial over that!

You know that non-Musk-o-vites (formerly known as Twitheads) have no idea what you're going on about.

dogmeat

@KiwiPie that's the bonus

They'll think I'm channeling my inner @Tim

I’ve saved my run until now to try climb up the table 😂

It is all updated at https://www.thesilverfern.com/tipping/

Best score of the weekend was Higgins with 50, getting 10 category points for Force as lowest scorer and Reds v Chiefs as closest game. Nobody picked 6/6 with no picks for the Waratahs to win but all the top 5 picked 5/6 so no big change - Hydro11 and Tim scored 45 each so the lead remains at 11.

Barbarians beat BOP Chiefs to win the minor premiership and set up a playoff against the same team. The Hurricanes teams Gold and Black drew and will also face each other again next week in the other playoff. Playoffs are played over 2 legs.

Hydro11 and Tim won their TSF Cup semi-finals so the top 2 in the league will compete in the Cup final over 2 legs.

dogmeat

Back to back wins for Blues B for the first time this season 🤔

Tipping time people - don't forget - pointy end of the season

This is where I make my late charge. The direction on the ladder isn't specified.

KiwiPie

Sorry for the late update - off sick today so will get to it once I'm out of bed.

KiwiPie

The update is complete https://www.thesilverfern.com/tipping/

Hooroo was the top tipper of the weekend with 52, ahead of Corkscrew with 51 with Fiamacho 3rd best with 49 along with Victor, Fiamacho the only one to pick 6/6 results. Hydro11 retains an 11 point lead at the top.

In the playoff first leg ties, Barbarians take a 1 point lead against the BOP Chiefs and Canes Gold leading Canes Black by 3.

Hydro11 and Tim are all square in their TSF Cup final after the 1st leg.

KiwiPie

Everything is up to date at https://www.thesilverfern.com/tipping/

Hydro11 cemented his spot at the top with 2 weeks to go, top scoring with 54 along with Winger. All the top 7 picked 6/6 so it came down to margins and the tricky category picks. Hydro's lead is now 16 from Tim with Winger up to 3rd, 6 points back.

In the teams comp, the final will be Barbarians v Hurricanes Gold, to be fought out over 2 weeks.

Hydro11 also won the TSF Cup, beating Tim by 93 to 88.

KiwiPie

With one week to go, it is still all to play for with TSF Tipping. https://www.thesilverfern.com/tipping/

Huge scores for most people as all the results went as expected (bat the Highlanders). Bay Imports had the season high 77/80, 6/6 and only missing one margin. Tim and Higgins next best with 70 and that moves Tim to just 8 behind Hydro11 with Higgins in 3rd another 13 back. Antipodean was the only other player to pick 6/6.

In the final, Barbarians lead Canes Gold 65-54 after the 1st leg with Crucial not even bothering to turn up. BOP Chiefs lead Canes Black 60-44 in the 3rd place play-off.

Most matches with the correct result picked is Tim with 59/71 and most correct with margin is Hydro11 with 37/71.

Whats the all seasons record high? 77/80 must come close

KiwiPie

@Winger Could be the highest, will run a complicated query on the Tipping giant database tonight and let you know.

Pretty poor that @bayimports got a margin wrong to be honest

To be fair, if the highlanders had not scored in the 80th minute, I do believe I would have had the clean sweep ...oh so close

Higgins

@bayimports Not quite as that last minute try Highlanders changed the margin from 19 to 12 bringing you smack bang into the Away 9 - 16 zone giving you ten points instead of seven. Your only miss from maximum points came in the Reds v MP fixture where you had Home 17+ so it was the last minute Henry Stowers converted try bringing the margin to eleven from the eighteen that it looked like it would be. You lost one and gained one with those last second tries!

KiwiPie

Here is the live top 10 for TSF Tipping with 1 game to go.

Hydro11 663
Tim 657
Higgins 652
John Nolan 649
Plastered Peni 640
Winger 638
Canes4life 634
KP 630
Triple T 610
Victor 609

For the top 4:

Hydro11 Highlanders 17+
Tim Highlanders 9-16
Higgins Highlanders 9-16
John Nolan Highlanders 1-8

For categories, Hydro11 can still score 5 for the Chiefs as top scorer, Tim will score 5 if the Crusaders get the biggest win, Higgins cannot score any points and John Nolan also has Crusaders as biggest victor.

So to win Tim needs a Highlanders win by 1-16 and for one of the teams to score more than 35 points.

KiwiPie

It's all over for another Super Rugby season and the results have been posted

In a low scoring week, Hydro11 scored just 19 but it was enough to win by 6 from Tim with John Nolan coming through to take 3rd and a podium spot in his debut season. Hydro11 won in 2016, 2018 & 2019 which suggests it is based on more than just random selections. Rounding out the top 5 were Higgins and Plastered Peni.

Best for the weekend with 50 was Kruse, getting 20 from all 4 category picks with 49 for Smudge who scored 15/20 on categories. Bay Imports was the only one with 4/6 games tipped for 40 points.

Barbarians won the teams competition 92-78 over Canes Gold for their first title since 2016. BOP Chiefs took 3rd beating Canes Black 88-66.

Thanks to all who played start to finish - see you all for the NPC.

Higgins

Thanks KP excellent job done again, just a shame a few dropped out along the way. Starting the last round I thought I had a podium spot cemented in but reserved my worst week right when we were into injury time, still looking at the Statistics page it is clear who is the most dynamic player when it comes to consistently wracking up half centuries!!!!!

Congrats and well done to Hydro11, Tim and John Nolan, especially Hydro whose record is surely second to none..
