NRL 2023 + Internationals

bayimports

they are not dead yet, anyone who has watched many warriors games will know, we can only make those comments after final whistle 🙂

Nepia

I missed the first two tries as I thought kick off time was Oz time. :man_facepalming_medium-dark_skin_tone:

bayimports

possession evening up looks a different game

Crazy Horse

The old Warriors would find a way to lose from here. Hopefully this team is different.

ACT Crusader

If you are watching the channel 9 coverage, they are so gunning for a Knights win. Didn’t realise how much man love they have with Ponga. Sheesh he makes a regulation pass and it’s the best thing since sliced bread.

bayimports

Well Warriors have a record of blowing 12 point leads, so Newcastle getting up not out of the question. Wont be watching 9 unless forced

mariner4life

Fuck this is tense!! Better start than I could have hoped for. Then 20 minutes of holding on.

We are still up. We're playing bloody well, we need to embrace the grind, get our linespeed back, and stop losing the territory battle

Donsteppa

Reverting to traditional form at the moment...

mariner4life

Can we get Tyson to play 6 for the ABs please? He's really fucking good

Tohu is a good size for a 6 - pity he played in the midfield in rugby.

bayimports

big try that one..Berry played really well today, good reward for that finish

taniwharugby

leagues interpretation of a shoulder charge/attempted wrap is poles apart from rugby

taniwharugby

surely you'd get SJ into an ice bath

KiwiMurph

Brisbane is gonna be pumping next weekend with Broncos Warriors and Lions Carlton

bayimports

I would probably get Tohu off now and play with 12 if I had too lol

Stag

With a performance like this in the biggest game of the year why the hell are they letting Sirinon go???

Donsteppa

Great night for the Mount Smart faithful.

ACT Crusader

The big question is how many kiwis will be able to get a ticket to Suncorp before all the Brisbane Bogans get them.

Going to be epic.

Hopefully all the faithful got tickets and the fairweather fans didn't snap them up.

mariner4life

Fuck that was awesome
Watched at home with my neighbour who is a Knights fan
Carried on like and absolute pork chop but had gun

What a fucking night!!!

taniwharugby

@Nepia my brother has had season tickets for years and years...he also went to Aus to watch them last week, not sure he'll be going next week...

Oh the poor bastard, I only had to take a train trip to watch that abomination.

I'm weighing up whether to go to Brisbane or to just wait and try snap up a GF ticket once we win.

canefan

Was at the game,

Oh what a night, watching the warriors on a Saturday night, knights just lost because they're fooken shite 😄

Seriously though, I was very nervous about the Knights especially as they were on a massive streak. Amazing start but we went flat in the final 15 of the first half and made basic mistakes. I was very worried when they scored early in the half, but that seemed to fire the boys up. What a sight seeing SJ soak up the crowd love a few minutes from the end, as did Tohu and Webster. What an epic game

mariner4life

How. Fucking. Good!!!

Awesome start. Then under the pump. And yet we blow them out? Who even is this team?

Love them. Looking in to Brisbane tickets as we speak

interesting one this, really versatile squad player and can fill in multiple roles, but master of none probably cost him.

bayimports

Great listening to SJ post match too, very relaxed and the calf isn't bad at all which is a good sign for next week

And yet we keep Jazz fucking Tevaga

booboo

Funny. In town today and young fulla in fruit and vege shop in Broncos gear gives it the obligatory "any plans for the afternoon"?

"Nothing much, might watch some footy later?"

"Oh, what footy?"

"Ah, Warriors"

"Oh yeah, up the Wahs"

🙂

BTW I have not expressed how much I hate that saying ... but hard case eh?

Gunner

I did not see that result coming!
I thought it was going to go down to the wire, with both teams a chance to win.

That opening 10-12 minutes for the Warriors was some of the best footy you’ll see, just perfection!
The Knights were always going to come back at us, it was brilliant to see us soak it up, stay calm and deliver.

40-10 over a red hot Knights team on a 10 game winning streak, in a sudden death game, how good?

Myself and a handful of the lads have a piss trip fund that we’ve all been contributing to since pre covid - it hasn’t been touched yet, so it’s in a very healthy state.

After a few beers and tonights result we’re potentially heading to Brissy next weekend.
We’re just sweating on the status of one of the boy’s passports…

Chris B.

I watched the second half.

I gave up watching the Warriors quite a few years back, because of continual disappointment and deciding they were doing nothing positive for my life.

So, congratulations to all of you guys who have hung tough. You deserve this!!!

Well done!

mariner4life

so, first off, I've jagged a ticket to the game and I'm heading to Brisbane.

To the game, it was noticeable how much effort we were putting in to Ponga. And Newcastle actually played it well by hitting Frizzell instead of going out the back, he made huge in-roads, and then Ponga came back the other way at looked immediately dangerous. But we kept turning up on D and eventually the knights cracked. Shutting out Ponga, their centres and their wingers just frustrated Newcastle out of it.

I don't hold out much hope this week, that performance will have taken so much out of us, and Brisbane are really fucking good, well rested, and at home. But what a year, and i am heading to Suncorp full of hope.

bayimports

Brisbane are good across the park and to be fair on Newcastle they had a few key outs for that game. We will need to be full strength to compete this week.

Great game for anyone who can get to Brissy though!
