I just watched the sports news which said Gary Stead's contract with NZC is up after the world cup later this year. He hasn't sought reappointment yet and even floated the concept of different coaches for different forms of the game.....

There is no reason there shouldn't be different coaches for the different formats. That is happening already when Stead has come home and Jurgensen or Ronchi take over.

Some shit in the year and a bit prior doesn’t help his cause though.
Stead in the mix as one of the coaches wouldn't be a bad thing overall. Probably Tests...? Just not convinced with his general style being in charge of all three formats.

Yeah but dumping KW as captain has been an inspired move, means he can concentrate on being awesome at batting.

His reaction after the Bangladesh loss last summer indicates to me he isn't the man for a job that is anything above a steady hand on the tiller.
TBH, it's just time anyway for a new guy.
