NRL 2024

Wait a minute..... The warriors claw back into the game, get a penalty after SJ is hit after a kick, and DWZ dots over to give the Melbourne based kiwis something to cheer about

canefan

Hughes cuts us up the middle again, and the Storm score from inside their own 25. That's fucken soft

canefan

Now the bunker fucked us by denying a try to Montoya

ACT Crusader

Classic Melbourne stitch up

ACT Crusader

The Storm get away with so much at the ruck it’s not even funny

canefan

We lose a captain's challenge after Hughes sells an obstruction. Fucken Melbourne and fucken Bunker

bunker as dodgy as a 5 day old fish sandwich.

canefan

It's a small sample size, but RTS has made a couple of big runs tonight. Hopefully a sign of things to come. And now DWZ, who can be a defensive liability, scores in the corner to close the gap to 8 with kick to come

canefan

That shot on Rocco Berry would be a straight red in union

canefan

Great leap and regatger by Roger, and a magical pass from the ground, but I think Jackson Ford comes up short of the line. Justice would see us get the try here

canefan

Ref sends Harris off for a bloody bin after getting hit in a high shot. That's a new one

canefan

SJ peppered Coates all game and he finally coughs one up. Montoya finishes off the resultant possession and Warriors lead by 4....

need to stamp that shit out in union too...main offenders being IRE

canefan

Shit bag move by Grant suitably punished

canefan

Storm are teetering it feels like

canefan

Need another try with all this dominance

canefan

I've got too much scar tissue. Against these guys, 8 points up with 8 minutes to play is not enough

canefan

Roger looking great now. And just as I type, RTS stuffs up

canefan

One mistake from Roger and the Storm turn that into 3 minutes of intense goal line pressure. We have to hold out

canefan

That run by Pap was pretty

canefan

Can't really fault Dallin. Just a crazy finish in the corner. The ride turned after RTS stuffed up at the ruck. The Storm had momentum and we couldn't stop the tide. Fuck that hurts

I started watching with seven minutes to go and thought "I bet they lose'. I am scarred too.

Great finish from Coates though.

After RTS gave them their first chance of the half to attack, we just couldn't stop them once enough to get the win

Why try and charge that drop kick???? If he hits you just shake his hand and say well done and play golden point.

Good point. But if he wanted to affect the kick, if he didn't touch it we win.

Well if "bud" Sullivan is the seven for the Tigers, then the Tigers should start their end of season holiday now.

Tigers spent pre-season working on Mad Monday.

ACT Crusader

@canefan to me that was just dumb. The probability of a 40+ metre droppie going after Pap ran backwards to go behind the 40m mark, is next to zero.

canefan

Just needed one play in the last couple of minutes to close it out. And we couldn't make it. Gutted

ACT Crusader

Was supposed to be at the game tonight on some corporate junket but now I’m glad I didn’t go.

Proud of that second half though.

bayimports

awesome second half, unfortunately we came out on the wrong side, best effort against Melbourne for a long time

The tactic of continually kicking to Coates was an interesting one given his reputation of being elite under the high ball , had to be to reduce his involvement by tackling him early .

And he was having a relatively quiet game , then scores that try which was the biggest moment of the game

That has to be the most spectacular try of that type from a winger ive seen , he got so much air

Nepia

I saw the last 2 and a bit minutes of this game as it was on the big screen in the lounge as I was leaving the Blues match. Couldn't bring myself to watch the replay which was my original intention. Even all the Kiwis in there were cheering that try (not the result).

But, as spectacular as it is, the Warriors let the Storm go in twice in that time. That's the Warriors of old.

Ever the Warriors pessimist, despite how close the score was, I think the wheels are coming off the biggest hype train in NZ sport.

The hit by DWZ propelled him higher than the height he got on the leap.
Was a sweet finish.

African Monkey

@antipodean Benji took no part in pre season with them. That sort of stuff is beneath him.
