New Zealand have moved to the top of the T20I rankings for the first time following the ICC's annual update. The new cycle disregarded results from the 2012-13 season and therefore West Indies, who won their first Twenty20 championship in 2012, lost points and have dropped one place to No. 3.

New Zealand have 132 points, having played their first World T20 semi-final since 2007. India also have 132 points, but New Zealand were ahead by a factor of 0.21 when decimal points were taken into consideration.

South Africa have been ranked No. 4 and World T20 2016 finalist England rounded off the top five.

In ODIs, Australia and New Zealand, who played the final of the 2015 World Cup, occupy the top two spots. South Africa have moved up a spot to No. 3, exchanging places with India.

Shitballs.

Great days to be a BCs fan (or bandwagoner)

No Quarter

First time we've been #1 in any format I believe. Definitely a golden period for the BCs 🙂

Some serious talent in that photo who've contributed mightily to the cause.

Nice photobomb from Sodhi and Ronchi too.....

I was with you on Ronchi, but Sodhi was excellent on the subcontinent...

Yep Sodhi did very well when he played, Ronchi must be gone now though.

Great to see.

However, to be consistent, I've never rated international T20 and have never ever looked at the ratings. I also think the current "world champions" are a joke of a team.

But if we're #1....celebration time!!!

No Quarter

The current world champions are made up of a team of T20 specialists. They were deserved winners without a doubt.

Well, they won. Then behaved like a bunch of knobs. And are a joke of a cricket team.

No Quarter

Not in T20s they aren't. In tests absolutely, and should probably lose their status as a test nation. But they are fricken hard to beat in T20s. They won the thing without their premier batsmen firing a shot in the finals.

Yep, and it proved that winning a T20 tournament requires more arse than class.

No Quarter

Lol, I think it shows that winning a T20 tournament requires T20 specialists. Which is what basically the entire WI team is.

Yep, so not any good cricketers. Except Gayle who has played 100+ tests.

No Quarter

Define "cricketer" 🙂

The guy in your profile pic is a good start :)

No Quarter

The guy that invented cricket max?

Yes. And was a brilliant cricketer who saw an opportunity to design a game that any gumby could play
