Report time - firstly going AWOL were @Chris Glen @MacDazzler @Canes4life @Tim @Kirwan - sort yourselves out, it is only week 2! The Teams comp relies on people tipping every week - maybe do it earlier in the week.

A much easier week for picking the winners - getting 7/7 were @Laurence who moves top overall, 7 points clear and also @jamsb who moves up to 6th. They both scored 61 but topping all scorers was @hydro11 with 65 - picked Waikato to win but got 6/6 margins on the other games and moves up to 2nd. Sharing 3rd spot are @Higgins and @trooa

16 players in total topped 50 after nobody managed it last week. At the other end of the scale, @george33 scored just 21. The first round of the Cup is next week, the draw has been made. 2 of @BorderJB @ploughboy @sportboy will make the draw depending on which of them scores best in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd game etc.

Wins for Wellington and Wairarapa Bush mean they are 1 and 2, Harbour-Auckland are already looking wooden spooners and Counties-Waikato and Northland fought out an honourable draw.

Apologies mate, was sick last week and completely forgot. Frustrating.

Nobody at all picked Taranaki as top scorers and BoP as low scorers. Picking 6/7 results were @jamsb Plastered Peni @ploughboy @bayimports & @Chris with Chris top scoring with 46. @george33 showing an uncanny knack of picking the wrong winner scoring just 12 and forcing all the non tippers to have just 7 points.

@Laurence still leads but only by 2 from @hydro11 with @jamsb up to 3rd. Wellington wins again with their 3rd bonus point win, also wins for BOP and first wins of the season for Counties-Waikato and Northland. The Cup is into the last 16 - no ties this weekend. Missing tippers were @trooa @Kruse @Yeetyaah Glen @Canes4life @Tim and @BorderJB was late again.

Nah I ditched that rule a long time ago (for this very reason). You get zilch, nada, nothing. If you don't submit at all you get 5 points less than the lowest score of someone who put their tips in on time.

Best was 5/7 picks by @Corkscrew and a top score of 39, 4/7 for @Joan-and-Mary & @MacDazzler and only 1/7 for some - if they picked Counties to win. Season low score of 7 for @george33 & @Duluth

No real change at the top but Corkscrew moves up from 20th to 6th overall. We've reached the last 8 in the Cup. Joan and Mary very unlucky to lose as the 2nd highest scorer of the weekend.

Wellington and BOP tie their game so Wellington still unbeaten. Only 4 points cover 2nd to 7th on the ladder.

The week was OK for tipping until Sunday with 2 big upsets, only 3 picking a Steamers win and only 2 going for Auckland. The best results picked was 5/7 for @barky1 @taniwharugby Richie & @MacDazzler But the best score was 44 for @antipodean with 2 margins correct and both category picks (Canterbury & Northland).

We have a new leader, @jamsb now leads by 2 from @Laurence with Propsicle 3rd, @barky1 up to 4th and Plastered Peni dropping to 5th. Still only 20 points between 1st and 13th so plenty are still in contention for the title.

In the teams comp, with one week of round robin left there are 6 teams still battling for the top 4 - 4 points from Counties-Waikato in 1st and Northland in 6th.

Finally in the Cup, the final will be between Barky1 & Propsicle - to be played out over the next 2 weekends.

A wide range of scores this weekend which meant a bit of movement overall. Picking 6/7 and topping the scorers were @Chris with 47 and @Corkscrew who made the only correct category pick (Southland as low scorers). Overall, after taking the lead last weekend, @jamsb crashed down to 7th scoring only 23 which means that @Laurence is back on top, 5 points clear of Corkscrew with @barky1 in 3rd, Propsicle 4th and @Justin77 up to 5th. 3 rounds to go and all to play for.

The round robin is over, playoffs start next weekend. Only 2 points between BOP in 1st and Hawke's Bay missing out on the play-offs, with Northland 2nd on total points scored ahead of Wellington in 3rd and Counties-Waikato in 4th. Results were unpredictable all season except for Harbour-Auckland losing every game.

In the Cup Final, after the 1st leg Barky1 leads Propsicle by 33 to 30.

Best of the weekend was @Chris with 46 just ahead of @Winger (45) and @hydro11 (44). Nobody at all picked Otago to win and very few went for Counties and Waikato and only @ploughboy picked 5/7.

The effect has been to close the title race right up with just 2 weeks to go. There is a 3 way tie between @justin77 @Laurence & Propsicle with Winger in 4th a point back and @Corkscrew another point back in 5th. 1st to 9th are covered by 10 points so plenty can still come through to win.

Counties-Waikato beat the minor premiers BOP and will contest the final against Wellington who thrashed Northland. The final (and other placings) are decided over 2 legs for the final 2 weeks.

Propsicle wins the TSF Cup beating @barky1 over 2 legs.

If you feel like NPC tipping is much harder this season, well it is.

In 2024, 13 players picked results at 67% or better - this season only Corkscrew (70%) is above that mark.

In 2024, 13 players picked margins at 25% or better - this season only 6 players are achieving this.

@KiwiPie Often it becomes a bit monotonous with form prevailing but not this year where there have been plenty of what could be called "upsets". and big swings in form between weeks for some teams. Not picking the favoured team has been fruitful this season!

Even better is that the overall leaderboard sees a miserly two points between the top fiver tippers and nine within ten points (that's just one win!). I sneak into the top ten but are too far back to be any realistic hope of podiuming. It is noted @Winger is lurking there in a very challenging spot, timing his run impeccably as per usual.............................

Interesting to note that the defending Teams champs missed out on making the playoffs thanks to having the most points scored against them but there's not much you can do about that other than to bemoan bad luck that your opposition all seem to have their best performances when coming up against you!!!!!

For once it was a predictable week - all the results are up at https://silverfern.rugby/tipping/ - one more week left to tip and then you can rest and recuperate until February.

With the first draw of the season (zero points for all) all of the other 6 went to form meaning more people picked 6/6 than didn't. Best was @Winger with 4 margins and 57 points to move into the overall lead by 2 ahead of @Laurence who shared the 2nd best score of 54 with @Donsteppa . 3rd is Plastered Peni who is another 9 back so it could be Winger and Laurence battling it out in the final week.

In the Teams final, it's a pretty low scoring affair with Wellington leading Counties-Waikato by 38-34 after the first leg. Good scoring by BOP to have a huge lead in the 3rd place playoff and a top game between Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa Bush (44-43) for 5th place.

The winner and retaining his title is @Winger by just a single point from Plastered Peni with @Laurence in 3rd. Laurence was leading until the category picks when the 2 above him picked Manawatu as low scorers. Rounding out the top 5 were Propsicle in 4th and @justin77 in 5th, along with @mikedogz the only 2 tippers with 7/7.

Winning the teams comp were Wellington 78-75 against Counties-Waikato. BOP were bronze medalists, Hawke's Bay won the Plate and South Island avoided the wooden spoon which went to Harbour-Auckland, down to a single tipper by week 10.
