@kiwipie has got the tipping set up already
We might be low on numbers with the url chaos
If you're on the fern regularly please join. It works better with more numbers
The Fern Tipping page shows the results from NPC 2024
- @Winger
- @Donsteppa
- @sportboy
Team champions: Hawke's Bay
Cup champion: Winger
We're probably going to be down on numbers after the url chaos
If you're here most days consider entering. It only takes a minute a week to fill out the answers
All of the NPC sides for round one can be found here:
First game is tonight, so get your tips in today
Currently we have 25 tippers. Last year was 41
Many of the missing names are people who haven't found the new url yet. So some new tippers would be helpful.. it works better with more people
Up to 31 now. I have limited access (from Fiji) but if someone can post in the main forum or on the relevant match threads that would be good.

Entered. I'm fairly confident of finishing at the bottom of the tipping table.
You'll have some stiff competition. I tipped the first round before the teams were released.
Kick off time is less than an hour away now and we still need more tippers. KPs competition is unique in that it is both a teams event as well as having an individual competition so it is twice as fun!!! With the change in URL we are still missing quite a few regulars so the call goes out to all you others that contribute to this great forum but have yet to put their thoughts into action by backing your judgement as to who you think should win each game. Now is the time to put that to the test.
Each Provincial Team has a maximum of six players but just the top five each week count towards the team total and at this stage there are teams that are hovering around the four tippers at this stage so please help out if you can.
Use this link to get you into the tipping page
Even if you miss the deadline for the first game you can still enter with the game you miss being recorded as a default Away 17+ score @Dan54 can't be too far away from joining in this year..........
@taniwharugby Interesting to note seemingly perennial top contender @winger has not fronted yet but he tends to be a very late tipper each week so there is still time he may front up. If not then it opens the competition up a bit more! My guys look to only have four starters at this stage so I've got my fingers crossed someone might front up late in the piece to fill the squad out without having to rely on the draft organised by KP.
Edit: And as I wrote the above Winger does front up. Still it is small consolation that he can't improve on his finishing position last season when he sneaked ahead of @Donsteppa to win the thing right on full time.

I vaguely recall the result effectively being staked on the NPC final. I went double or nothing on that one
Silver Fern is only tipping I ever go in. Have to miss this one as I maybe away for a part, and just find it too hard to do tips when I not home.
The results are live for week 1. Bookmark this link as they will appear here every Sunday/Monday https://silverfern.rugby/tipping/
@ploughboy is our early leader. 5/7 results with 3 margins was enough for 47 in what was a low scoring week. 6/7 was the best for @justin77 who was 2nd with 46 (not enough margins) and 3rd is @Laurence with 40 - only 4/7 but all with a correct margin. Also getting 5/7 were @trooa and @BorderJB in 4th and 5th. 3 players picked only 2/7 (which given Taranaki and Hawke's Bay were banker home wins was pretty poor!) and worst was @Yeetyaah with just 15.
Still time to join if you want to, you will get 10 for the first round. All players (43) have been assigned a team - BOP, Counties-Waikato & Wellington have 6 as they were popular and their spares have been drafted to other teams. Narrow first round wins for Hawke's Bay, BOP, Wellington and a convincing win for Wairarapa Bush over South Island for whom every player scored 27 points.

Link to tipping seems broken?
Do we want to actually see the results? 🫣

Some do - most don't!

the link was working fine earlier on but failing for me now.
When was it working?
@Kirwan was doing something last night. He'll fix it soon

It was definitely working 5 hours ago when I did the updates.

I'm surprised. I actually thought none of the results went my way.
First game of round 2 of NPC is tonight, make sure you get your tips submitted https://silverfern.rugby/tipping-submit
There will be a bit of a delay before week 2 scores are online - I seem to have lost the workings for week 1 in my spreadsheet so I will need to do a bit of reconstruction. Meanwhile the tipping form is live for Week 3.
Not quite as bad as feared - Sharepoint had hidden it somewhere. Everything updated now at https://silverfern.rugby/tipping/ - report to come later on.
Report time - firstly going AWOL were @Chris Glen @MacDazzler @Canes4life @Tim @Kirwan - sort yourselves out, it is only week 2! The Teams comp relies on people tipping every week - maybe do it earlier in the week.
A much easier week for picking the winners - getting 7/7 were @Laurence who moves top overall, 7 points clear and also @jamsb who moves up to 6th. They both scored 61 but topping all scorers was @hydro11 with 65 - picked Waikato to win but got 6/6 margins on the other games and moves up to 2nd. Sharing 3rd spot are @Higgins and @trooa
16 players in total topped 50 after nobody managed it last week. At the other end of the scale, @george33 scored just 21. The first round of the Cup is next week, the draw has been made. 2 of @BorderJB @ploughboy @sportboy will make the draw depending on which of them scores best in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd game etc.
Wins for Wellington and Wairarapa Bush mean they are 1 and 2, Harbour-Auckland are already looking wooden spooners and Counties-Waikato and Northland fought out an honourable draw.

Apologies mate, was sick last week and completely forgot. Frustrating.
TIP EARLY THIS COMING WEEK - OPENING GAME IS ON THURSDAY NIGHT.
Results are updated after the weekend https://silverfern.rugby/tipping/
Nobody at all picked Taranaki as top scorers and BoP as low scorers. Picking 6/7 results were @jamsb Plastered Peni @ploughboy @bayimports & @Chris with Chris top scoring with 46. @george33 showing an uncanny knack of picking the wrong winner scoring just 12 and forcing all the non tippers to have just 7 points.
@Laurence still leads but only by 2 from @hydro11 with @jamsb up to 3rd. Wellington wins again with their 3rd bonus point win, also wins for BOP and first wins of the season for Counties-Waikato and Northland. The Cup is into the last 16 - no ties this weekend. Missing tippers were @trooa @Kruse @Yeetyaah Glen @Canes4life @Tim and @BorderJB was late again.
