Sadly Shane's struggles have been quite public and at the same time kept behind closed doors.
He talked about not being able to be in bright rooms, having headaches, the impact of Billy's death and wanting a better understanding of CTE in the future. Then he has popped up talking about other topics as well.

It must have been a very tough path to this point, and whatever the journey there will be a lot of people impacted by this terrible news.
Before the impacts of CTE took over, he seemed a really fun dude. Hope he is remembered for that.
Will make Saturday's game between Tasman and Otago a big occasion. He had such a big impact on footy in both Nelson and Dunedin.
