Another meat pie for the bowler and they are on the brink
Good effort after the early batting disaster.
A few too many errors to be a really professional effort, but good enough for today.
Seifert, Phillips, Mitchell, Santner all good - Chapman, Ferguson and Henry pass marks. Neesh and Duffy OKish.
Santner is in some form at the moment. He's probably our best bowler, and would probably squeeze into the side on his batting alone. And is a fantastic fielder, oh and the captain.
Really don't understand why the Nepalese batter decided to get cement feet in the final over, standing deep in his crease. Choke

With a name like Bam he hit a few good shots before.
That result will be way too close for comfort for the English.

I was half asleep watching it, but my half guess is pre-emptively trying to give himself extra room to get underneath expected yorkers. But the joys of premeditation sometimes ...

NZ getting a wake up call going to have to chase 174 to win. Squeaky bum score this. Could have been worse lucky to peg it back
Massive partnership really brutal effort. Well done NZ again. World record partnership for T20 quite extraordinary. NZ chase 174 without losing a wicket scoring 175/0

Yeah I didn't flinch at this - I'm reckoning 170s is going to be considered a pretty low score this WC.
UAE appeared to only have two international class batsmen.
That over by Phillips made it slightly harder than a cakewalk. Guessing Santner will have learned a valuable lesson from that.
I'm really thinking we should be playing Bracewell ahead of Neesham - or possibly Ravindra. I don't think these part time spinners are going to cut it against the big guns.

Bracewell is out of the T20 WC

@Virgil That's unfortunate.
I wonder whether it had any role in him not playing the first couple of matches?
Not sure McConchie is as compelling a choice. Can't really recall his bowling - but, I don't watch much domestic cricket.
Can only assume they had hoped it would come right in time for the business end of the WC
Feels like they shouldnt have picked him in the first place

Especially in this game.
Good win that. Quite the statement even if it is smashing a bit of a minnow.
Afghanis got Markram early, but the Jaapies have consolidated.
64/1 after 8.
Game in the balance - SA slightly on the slow side, but wickets in hand - next handful of overs will tell a story.
159/5 after 18 overs.
They looked like making 200 easily, earlier. Been a bit conservative and lost wickets.
Miller and Jansen can do some damage in the last couple though!
2 quick wickets and they're coming back to earth, hopefully Gurbaz hangs around for a few more overs though
big wicket taken Gurbaz gone 121/4, has he done enough?, probably not as I dont think they bat that deep. Exceptional innings nonetheless
Stubbs with a clever catch on the boundary - may be the matchwinner - wicket falls saves 6.
Rashid needs to do it all.
And SA mop them up.
Just not enough runs from the other batsmen - I think that was there for the taking for Afghanistan.
SA score a bit light.
