@Chris-B But still one over too many!

Neesh gets smoked in his third - 18 off it.
This surprises no one.
Neesh should be filed under "break glass and let him bowl only when everyone else has fallen over"
Annoyingly one of Duffy or Ferg will only bowl three overs.
The Rachin ploy sort of worked. Henry then gets another - late but helpful!
Kept them well under 200, that's solid.
Gettable total providing they handle the spin and someone goes big.
Worries me that Santner was our most economical and the Afghans are spin heavy.
Pitch didn't appear to have too many demons.
Looked like a nicely paced innings - our inability to pick up regular wickets obviously allowed them to score mor freely than desired.
Seifert and Allen are one of the best opening combos in the tournament. A lot will depend on the stsrt they provide.

Apparently we have never chased down a score over 17o at a T20 World cup, today will be a good day to make history!

No shortage of batting.
I wonder where Mitch will bat ? of late he's been 5/6, I reckon he needs to come in earlier. It's not like he's tuckered out from bowling.

Will be 5/6. Probably six I'd reckon.
Pushing more on Phillips at four.
The "guns" for hire failing when it counts as usual. Neesham with the ball and now Allen with the bat.

Not sure Phillips is the guy to be at four in this situation.
Yeah that's what I was alluding to. Mitch should have gone in.
Not sure why they force Ravindra into T20s - clearly his worst format - should be left to play ODIs and Tests

Three half centuries in 40 completed innings is a poor return especially when you compare to his records in the other two formats. If he wasn't in the team he wouldn't be missed.

Seven 50s in 124 domestic and international T20s at an average of 20 and change. He should not be in the NZ side. I think his Super Smash average is something like 16.

He's like the batting version of Adam Milne, there on pontential rather than actual results.

To be fair to Milne. His T20 record is top notch. Average of 24. Just has never been able to stay on the field.
Looking at Ravindra's record. It is a miracle he even gets a T20 game.
Seifert and Phillips will be our most experienced T20 players. 580 games between them
Milne is one of those unfortunate guys that, whenever there's a headline that he's out injured, it's about as surprising as being told that water is wet.

Still no Mitchell?
I think they're doing it just to irk me.
Loads of batting to come still. Bugger that Phillips went. 91 from 61 with seven in hand should be doable provided no one drags the chain.

59 off 43 and Our Lord And Saviour Mitchell arrives.

Yeah things have gone from comfortable to niggly in a short space of time.
Thank goodness we have Mitchell batting at six.
