Crusaders v Brumbies

@KiwiMurph bit early for mine still 20 to go

While I like the speed of play improvements ... i don't think the lax rulings around the break down and the constant ref coaching of players helps super rugby players at all when they step up to international duties .. I do appreciate the ref coaching can help the flow of the game.... but a simple "hands away now" and then a whistle if hands are not moved should be the extent of it

KiwiMurph

Crusaders had to work very hard for those points.

Torian

Good try from Leicester but Jesus Kemara you needed to get that over son

Crusaders Keystone Cops with some flashes of brilliance. Frustrating.

Brumbies should take the 3
edit forgot about the wind

Torian

I'm starting to think my Canes, Blues, Ireland, Scotland & Crusaders Multi is all but over

KiwiMurph

Brumbies look the best team in the comp early doors

Brumbies deserved winners

@Mattasaurus was thinking the same thing but when you pick up the try

W32

First super rugby game for me in a while. Yeah no

yup at 30 years, Super rugby is a poor shadow of what it once was..... SA leaving really was the final death blow for me

KiwiMurph

For all of Blackadder's endeavour hs is very ineffectual at the breakdown

Holy heck what a result for the Brumbies

he simply hasn't lived up to the hype in my opinion - especially after been repeatedly broken for extended periods

W32

Wow I don’t remember the crusaders being this bad

Torian

Toole in open space it's a beautiful sight

Toole just cooks them at the end..... raw pace wins

You clearly didnt watch 2 years ago

Cale and Valentini have been brilliant on the carry today
Valentini with several dominant carries when his team required it
Muirhead has been outstanding
This is a statement….

Missing that conversion… that could be crucial

Maybe not lol

I don't want to crow too early, but I was called silly for suggesting the Crusaders aren't all that...

Weird comment. You’re here commenting every week on almost every game?

@frugby disturbing that a team with 14 All Blacks didn’t front

Remiss of me not to mention James Slipper one heck of a way to celebrate 200 games
Congratulations

Think that number is a little misleading. Taylor, Newell, Williams and Jordan are the only regular All Blacks in the playing squad that played today, and that showed.

And hearing how we miss the South African sides is so painful. Their teams were about on par with today's Aussie teams lol, and had only 1 team of theirs that ever won the comp in 25 seasons.

NZers didn't even watch the SA games most of the time.

Anyway, back to the game thread lol.

KiwiMurph

Not sure teams will fear playing the 2026 Crusaders under the roof after looking at that.

Tim

Forgot this game was on. Just saw Toole's try. Is this the year of the speed on the wing?

This is what I’ve been saying. The roof is going to be the worst thing the Saders did in terms of continued dominance.

It’s no surprise they only get dominant when it’s freezing cold in winter and other teams lose that attacking ability because the ball becomes like a bar of soap, and the Crusaders revert to what they are best at - mauling and scrums.

Proof will be in the pudding but it will be interesting to see how things pan out over the next few years. I’ll happily eat my hat if the Saders have three or four titles in the next five years, but I just can’t see it. What I can see is four or five teams winning titles over the next five years.

fuuuuuck . . . saders make the force look not so bad!

Three of Razor's titles came at Ellis Park, Eden Park and FMG Stadium.

Actually. thought we were quite good for most of that game. Brumbies were just better - and we gave them too much possession and a couple of soft tries.

Wheels came off at the end chasing the game.
