That writeup might be unfair, and the nightclub incident might be massively overblown.
But Ben Stokes can get in every bin in every London nightclub for the 2019 CWC Final alone.

I think the biggest issue is they were out past a curfew that Stokes himself suggested in the first place ?
That's the bit that should be the nail. You're the captain son, getting in to night club fights after curfew is a sacking offence.
Attitude reflects leadership sir
Don't know about you guys but i outgrew the nightclub scene getting on the piss with the boys in my mid 20's
It bored me eventually.
He's 35 and the captain of one of the highest profile sports team's in the world, in a country where there are more CCTV's per sq km then anywhere else in the world that is over run with more paps then anywhere else in the world.
He only needed to knock his drink over and it would have been front page news there.
Just brainless stuff all-round.

Settle Gramps, Drinks with the boys is still fun. Gone from being a weekly to an annual thing these days to be fair.
I agree 100% with the rest though. The British press orgasm over this kind of shit and making sure the mud sticks.
England team (revised) to play at the Oval tomorrow.
England XI for second Test: Ben Duckett, Emilio Gay, Jacob Bethell, Joe Root (capt), Harry Brook, James Rew (wk), Jordan Cox, Jofra Archer, Josh Tongue, Matthew Fisher, Sonny Baker
Jamie Smith out due to the birth of his second child leaves England with three debutants and two guys on one test a piece.
A very good opportunity for NZ to level the series, even without KW.
Fern favourite Henry Nicholls in for the irreplaceable KW as a straight swap.
I suspect the rest of the team will be exactly the same.
Good record on paper, test average heading towards 40 with 10 test hundreds. Nine of those have been scored at home though so it's accurate to point out that he struggles away from home to put it mildly. Massive test coming up.
In a massive surprise this year, it's grey, blustery and has been raining for the past hour in south London.

I'm looking forward to seeing Smith bat well at 8
Something to look forward to before lunch if we bat first.

There he is !!!!
We've been sent into bat, a half hour damp outfield delay.
So Smith should be batting by about midnight NZST?
