Every year we will lose some that we want to keep. This year seems we are seeing some lads read the room and think fuck it, we are off.

From a Highlanders perspective I am pretty happy with the guys who are moving on. None would be starting players in 2027. Which has to be a win.

The interesting numbers will be post 2027. How many guys will be looking overseas affer the world cup or if they don't get an AB shot.

@canefan Yip he did but its not enough to meet what is needed at AB level moving forward. Been a great servant of Mako- Crusaders and All Black rugby and deserves 3-5 years earning life changing coin japanese style

I didn't mean it like that. I thought he played pretty well this SR season. But I did not want him in the ABs

you're not wrong...my only concern is a feel depth is whats really stung us in the past....i'd love it if we could keep a couple more guys...millar i would have liked to keep

The rumour being the Crusaders players leaving are all going because Hanson is coming back as Coach.
Stupid rumour the Crusaders are losing 6 players by the look of things.
By that standard its Laidlaw's fault 12 or 13 players are leaving the Canes,
Or 10 Blues players leaving must be because Holland is the new coach
12 at the Highlanders going Joseph's fault.

The Crusaders are actually losing less players than the other teams.

It seems that way, Some experience left in the backs with Jordan,Mounga,Leicester,Hotham,Preston I would say Reihana and Kemera have experience now.
Fihaki maybe staying it is a rumour about him leaving.
Some young talent Roberts,Bell,Springer,Kanawave ,McDonald plus Corey Evans with still some places to fill in the backs.

Yeah The Chiefs look the least disrupted side for next year. Maybe loose 6 or 7.

That as we know Savea is favoured to go to the Blues. That NZR wants to keep Leota and Tupou-Ta'eiloa in country. With Leota signing on for Harbour, that increases the odds that he will remain in NZ. If he there was a likelihood of him going back to league (as suggested), you'd think he would have signed on now prior to June 30 and back into at least playing Queensland Cup.

With Tupou-Ta'eiloa, speaking for all Highlanders fans. We want to say 1000 sorries and get him back

@Bovidae What about - go to Canes for World Cup year and have a non playing sabbatical like Taylor and Scooter for the first half of the comp. He has had 18months of full time rugby already! Rennie acknowledged this in naming him captain and said they will have to manage it. And then gone after World Cup!?
