Doing all of that talking about just wanting to have fun, only to opt for a reaaally bad roster fit that could get toxic really quickly, is a great bit.
I’m not really surprised by this move but I’m not sure what Paul and James thinking is when it comes to the whole legacy. A farewell tour in Philly colours? Yeah nah.
In terms of actual ball, LBJ the facilitator could be great for this team. Maxey and VJ are more hybrid guards than pure PGs, so LeBron could help these guys thrive. The Brown and James combo will be the most intriguing. LeBron has played with some ball dominant players, but I think Jaylen needs to evolve his game a bit. Embiid will be good for 40 games so LBJ could see some time at the 5 in some small ball lineups (they have Anfernee Simons and Dean Wade in the squad that are god shooters to spread the floor).
They can play fast small ball and let Embiid rest for significant minutes. I see LBJaking everyone better. Style unsure if will be enough to get them to the finals

I think the key is just going to be to win the minutes where they're staggered by a lot, and agressively rotate throughout the year. To get anything remotely close to the best out of Jaylen with their best 5-man line-up they're going to have to look away from more efficient ball handlers and just let him do his thing.
Even Simons is going to be a bit of a tricky fit. That's another guy who is going to want to create his own shot off the dribble a decent amount with the second unit.
I doubt they'll log many minutes as a 5 in the reg season - just enough to get some familiarity maybe. Embiid will sit a lot, they'll want VJ to keep getting reps, LeBron surely has to tire.
I love the same LeBron haters that bagged him for taking a large contract and "killing his teams chances" have now flipped to hating him for taking $4m p.a. and "ring chasing". The same dudes who don't seem to realise that taking a pay cut to chase a title is as old as time, with Barkley and Timmy D the best loved of those that did it. The same folk will tell you that Steph is the bestest cos he stayed in the same spot without understanding what that franchise did around paying massive lux tax and the way he recruited KD and almost LeBron. That MJ was so amazing for staying in Chicago, when he had one of the best front offices in history, alongside areguably the best coach to ever do it, and it still required Scottie to get screwed over to make it work.
Anyway, haters gonna hate.
All I know now is that I have zero clue if Philly will be any good when it matters. but damn it'll be fun to watch and find out!

I hated the 'chasing happiness' bullshit which was just fuel for the media and everyone to give a fuck about him for one last time. We can then get a circus trying to understand whether that means playing with friends, or going home, or trying to win. And then, after all of that, he's just ring chasing. That's neat and 100% fair, but just fucking say it from the start man.
That's what I hate about LeBron.
