Back from the game, and it was definitely a game of two halves. Neither team will be happy with the other half.
From a Waikato perspective, the young players like Stephens, Salabiau and Eti did well. Some of the Waikato players were cramping up in the last quarter, so a make-shift team in the end. But a win to start the competition.
@mattasaurus Like you mate, stoked to have NPC back, but it is Sky commentary team isn't it?
You could certainly see it was first game of season etc, but both teams settled into it I thought.
I won't be overly confident when I up at New Plymouth next week for the Naki/Waikato game as I thought Waikato looked pretty ok!
@ruggersman Saw Salabiau at the Northern Region 7s last November at Thames he looked deadly at that tournament
Its one of the reasons i love getting out to 7s tournaments if your looking for X factor you always spot a gem that just needs polishing
