He bottled it completely.

Didnt even give a penalty, as to give a penalty would acknowledge an infringement occurred and he didnt want to put himself in that position.

Yeah, I think the ref bottled it a bit so the Springboks got lucky today.

But they've been the best team across the tournament as a whole and are worthy winners. Well done to the Springboks and their supporters.

I think adjudication (refs and TMO's and the laws they are tasked with enforcing) is at an all time low qualitatively, be it from a fairness perspective and enjoyment perspective.

We are being served up a terrible product.

@W32 Antonie DuPont did his ACL in March. The last announcement (at the end of June) was that his rehabilitation was in it final stages and his target was to be back playing by the end of November.

Unlikely that he plays the Springboks on 8th November, but not totally impossible.

“It’s going well, but it’s still a long time. It’s my second time with the cruciate ligaments, so I want to be patient and do things right to come back in the best possible condition,” he said before confirming a return to play date. “End of November or beginning of December, it won’t be before then.”
