For a couple of minutes we get very narrow, according to Marshall it's 13 phases and CC storms over for the score. That's more like it. Not given after Kirifi knocks it on in the ruck. The way we set that up was very good though, I like the direct play. If the Welsh player was responsible for the knock on, would that have been a YC last weekend? Not that I want him to get a YC, but Cody got pinged for something similar
Davidson makes a reasonable decision to deny WJ a try at 48 mins. I thought her process was very logical. She's having a good game, I hope her AR takes note!
Very nice passage of play from the forwards at 51 mins, highlighted by a rampaging run from Samsoni and a massive clean from Parker, DMac with the cross kick (the right area of the field to try one) and Rieko scores in the corner.
Where has this narrow forward dominated play been all season?
@African-Monkey he's never been a big carrier (in terms of metres) despite his size, he usually tackles and hits rucks, but like other players, Razor seems to have how he wants players to play, seemingly away from thier natural strengths.

We've certainly had worse.
I didn't blow up at any of her calls in play, so am interested how our Welsh posters saw her given my lack of indignation.
She was bullied out of awarding Jordan's try though.
She'll do plenty more tests.

Same, and I felt like she realised she was wrong in awarding it in the first place.

Love makes a great pickup at 17 mins and makes 50m on a touchfinder. A rare occurrence this season
He and DMac had some huge kicks, wonder if they might have been beneficial at a few points this year?
Especially with a dominant line out more than capable of stealing opposition ball...

I have also heard that Love had a training ground disagreement with Hansen.
Just on Love's early subbing. Piney on ZB reporting he rolled an ankle.
Wecan all wind the indignation down just a little. Not to off, but down a bit.

Don't agree. She was talked out of trusting the evidence of her own eyes by an inconclusive super slomo.

Helps that some of the NH stadiums don't meet World Rugby's minimum required width.

E.g. Stade de France width is 67.60m, Allianz Stadium in Italy is 65m (believe Principality Stadium is 68m)
All our main stadiums in NZ are at the max of 70m so a lot of our kicks look bigger than normal up there.
The Reece try took advantage of Wales being a man down. But the continuity close in from the ABs forwards set the platform.
The following exit was most unusual. A couple of hit ups and Christie feeds DMac. Might not have hit it perfectly but it was refreshing to see our 10 kicking for touch instead of our 9 kicking another incontestable contestable

Plumtree off for YC hit on WJ. Those in passes aren't very good for us, every one resulted in our carrier getting smashed.
Our forwards have carried up the guts most of the game, as have the midfield. And DMac has played a decent controlling hand from 10. It sets up another try for Reece. I know it's only Wales. But the game plan felt so much better suited to our players. And I wonder why it's taken this long to play this way with this personnel. Razor and his coaches have really dug themselves this hole trying to be far too cute
No disrespect to Wales, they battled hard and scored four good tries, but they were weakest team we have played all year and that was our easiest win for some time. It felt like a bit of a training run at times.

Watching in a pub I went to loo after first replay, which to me seemed not clear and obvious, so don’t know if there was a clear angle. In any event World Rugby needs to bin the YC onus. Then a minute later another TMO go with referee ignoring them and changing her original decision.
It’s actually painful to watch this version of rugby.
I said use AI as TMO and everyone laughed. But human error and poor judgement is killing things. If doctors can use AI to help diagnose medical problems we can use it to fix the TMO.
WR decide that constitutes YC and RC, they decide what protocols to go through. Then on game days TMO and refs fuck it up by departing from these guidelines. Set the limits, show AI what is YC and what is RC and what is not, let it make the decisions. And it will learn as it goes along

Only saw highlights but I'm very over Tony Johnsons commentary. When Reece scored you'd be mistaken for thinking the ABs had won the world cup, not put 50 on a pretty woeful team.
Or Justin Marshall talking up Will Jirdan anytime he got near the ball.
Marshall has been picked on enough, I thought it was time to move onto someone else.
He's a curates egg. Love some of his analysis and the level it's pitched and his excitement about great play no matter where it comes from, but he can be a wee bit boring and samey too. Dislike his clear love for certain players

I thought she had a very good game, seems to have a good feel for the game, kept control but did not seem overly intrusive by today's standards. I'd happily have her ref us again

Telegraphed passes are hospital passes.
Should we concerned that a Welsh guy that few of us have heard of scored three tries down Will Jordan's wing?

Apart from taking forever to disallow a Will Jordan try that she had clearly seen him ground, I thought Hollie Davidson had an excellent game.
I'd be happy for her to ref us again next year.

Our defence down both sidelines was horrendous today.
Tackling and defensive positioning veered wildly from mediocre to crap, you'd think the ABs were playing a man or two down most of the game... assistant coach position needs a good hard look at.

It was a strange watch from a Welsh perspective.
I was fully expecting a 50 point defeat given how awful we have been over the last 2 years.
Pleased to see us score a few tries and look threatening out wide particularly, but surprised how easily we got to make ground in that outside channel against you.
Made me think it's a shame our team of a decade ago with the likes of Warburton, Faletau, AWJ etc didn't get a chance to play against this NZ team. They managed the odd win against SA and Aus but NZ at that time were always way too good.
We've now got a totally pointless gave against SA next week which is outside the window and we have to say goodbye to 12 or 13 of this squad to England and France.
It's going to be an utter disaster.
Well you've found your back 3
If Razor goes away from that then he's dumber than we think
Centres looked good despite all the whinging on here. No better or worse than what's been picked this year
DMac with Roigard and you have a totally different back line proposition which will score tries for fun against everyone
Not just Wales
My missus went to the match and said it's the best atmosphere and spectacle she can remember in decades
They need to work on the smoke
That was bullshit
Holly was the best ref of the weekend by a country mile
Both were definite YCs
I’d have her reffing the RWC final if it was being played next weekend
Did you watch the other two matches?
Carly and Pearce - both English - couldn’t have been more different
You swap them and those matches would have been totally different
The inconsistency was glaring
I will say despite Holland’s supremacy at the lineout the ABs closed that line far too many times without being punished by Holly
My only black mark for the officiating team
Wales were never going to beat NZ but with 14 men for 20 mins I thought we did really well
I’ll throw it out here now
We won’t get the wooden spoon this 6N
Great tries fair play
I’ve definitely changed my opinion of Edwards
He’s getting better by the game
Put Jac Morgan and Wainwright in that back row and we're winning far more clean, quick ball
And we're slowly building a back line who can take advantage of that
@MiketheSnow said in Wales v All Blacks:

Well if he is - which I don't think is the case - then he needs to be the benchmark for decisions which every other ref works from
He waved things off yesterday which were YC and even RC worthy in other matches
It was a joke
