Duluth

@KiwiMurph

Yes Cotter should've told Ryan to piss off. A shame we can't just pick Oudenryn right now

Why can't you?

I think there's weird rules around only being able to use wider trainibg players if full contracted players are injury

Another idiotic Super Rugby rule

Mr Fish

@KiwiMurph I'd heard something similar but the Highlanders didn't seem to be hamstrung by that ruling at the start of the season so not sure what the situation is.

Highlanders have had an injury to Hugh Renton, so could bring Casey in as replacement.

Sure but Blues have plenty of injuries. I can't imagine there's a ruling that doesn't allow you to use a WTS player unless they play the same position as an injured player, but they're also allowed to start/be in the 23 even if there are enough available loose forwards etc.

Only if a hooker goes down.

Mr Fish

@WoodysRFC Sure but that's what I'm saying. I don't think the ruling would be as inconsistent as that. Highlanders had enough fit loose forwards that Casey shouldn't have been allowed in the 23.

SammyC

I've watched Mullen play a lot of club rugby and always thought he was better than Brodie McAllister who played at the same club

A slow start at super level, but I still think he'll come good and end up a good signing for the blues,

Tim

@SammyC He has looked better around the field this year, but not particularly good. It's his throwing that is substandard at the moment.

Yeah, his throwing needs work. He did look better around the paddock against the Brumbies. Seems to have gotten bigger this season too.

I assume Eklund will move on and we'll have Mullan back with Oudenryn and Slater next season? As duluth and sammyc said, maybe he just needs a bit more seasoning?

taniwharugby

@Tim his throwing was much better last year at NPC, although still had lapses, but his general play was much better too.

Injury dependent he should be our starting 2 this year with Moulds retired.

But agree there are some bizarre rules around full contracted players vs wtg players and when and how you can play them

Canes4life

Do us a favour tonight Blues.

nzzp

@Canes4life we're now favorites at the tab. So time for inevitable loss insurance

KiwiMurph

That's a woeful Blues crowd

Warriors crowd last night far better

taniwharugby

Nice try

Pretty easy and well taken in the end.... really expected BB to fuck it up with a cross kick though

taniwharugby
