@KiwiMurph So to make sense of this system. If the hurricanes, chiefs and saders win (which they likely will), the blues make it into the semi finals.

Which would make it the top 4 in the semi finals. Why's that a problem?

Yes
Regardless of how much the Blues lose by
I haven't read the thread yet but it was good to see some of the Chiefs WTG perform. I was impressed with Reon Paul and Dan Sinkinson has certainly taken his opportunities.
Gardner was as bad as Berry last night but for different reasons. His policing of the breakdown was all over the place.
Chiefs were clinical with their chances.
Blues weren't didn't actually miss many tackles but when their line fell apart it was catastrophic.
Scrum and lineout terrible for the Blues. Segner should not be the focus of the lineout as an openside. Overall Barnes and Wrampling both have more upside in the lineout than Segner. Yes he wins some ball but we regularly loose ball when it goes to him too. Not good enough from Darry this season. Simply not taking enough lineout.
Ahki and Taele are not a good midfield combo.
Positives were we lost less ball and won more ball at the breakdown. We made more post gain metres. We made 1 less linebreak. Our discipline was good. So some positives for a young team.
Just not anywhere as clinical as the Chiefs attack with opportunities. Couldn't maintain pressure with our poor lineout.
Far out, do we want to keep playing for another couple of weeks lol. Saw some good signs at times from our youngsters, but yeah, things got real ugly quick. Mullan's throwing too.....far out man.
My biggest takeaway from this game is that some rugby fans are precious little jellies. Some fella in front of me asked me to be quiet as I was "being too loud." Asked him what he really expected at a live game with 19000 in the stadium.

@Bones who knows, I've been in the same spot for the past 6 years and people come and go, some join in and some give me stick. The Blues fans near me were good sort at least despite my chat.
The city of sails have always provided the most polite fans

Fuck no.
Richard Knowler has predicted it - it must be so.

There's a cruise liner manifest of players in front of him.

There is loud and there is “blues fans can suck my … “ I can guess the shit you stirred. But to be fair they probably deserved it

lol it was a deliberate troll glad you enjoyed it

That was a dodgy as turnover by Ahki
A Gardner special. No such thing as through the gate. He also didn't penalise players for not rolling away. Segner had the McCaw invisibility cloak at times.

Never fear Blues BB will be back next week.....
Good lord, I can imagine the meltdown if he came back and beat the Sadists.
3 weeks until first squad naming.
In a game of 3rd vs 4th, between two teams with the same number of wins this season, who've played each other twice this year for one win each... bringing back the 140 cap incumbent AB 10 ought to make a big difference, don't you think?
I think he'll make a positive difference, he can't be as bad as he has been every week and it is a young Blues team who were poor without him - but the fact that in these circumstances you think it would be a massive surprise/upset and cause a meltdown says it all really.

He can certainly be randomly good.

Yeah, he certainly can still do good things on the field. The issue is that this (arguably) isn't even happening enough to outweigh the bad stuff at Super level, and certainly is not happening anywhere near consistently enough for him to be a contender to start at 10 for the ABs.
This is what irritates me when people point to him making a good play or having a reasonably positive game: our expectations simply ought to be a massive amount higher than that.

He was actually had a period of consistently good form earlier in the season but then it went down hill and it had all disappeared by the end. Not in my AB squad.

Yeah. Mullan's throwing is not up to standard currently.
@African-Monkey Time to throw Odenryn into the fray perhaps? Can't throw any worse than the other guys.
