That is pretty much the SunJags, they are a ramshackle bunch of over-achievers!

Good news that we're at 39 entries already and 40 is the minimum to run 8 teams. Hopefully we get to 48 and every team can dump a loser's score every week!

@KiwiPie That's looking promising. Hopefully there will be a decent number of others fronting up this afternoon once they have weighed up weather and track conditions and team lineups (although at this time of year the latter is a bit of a lottery!).

It is a Google form - nothing can go wrong ...

And yes you're both in - people who tipped early have gone Chiefs, people who waited until the teams came out have gone Highlanders - except me, I went Chiefs all day long. Highlanders leading 22-19 on picks so far, so there will be a split in the pack after game 1.

Looking at the teams that have been picked, it actually looks like all teams will scrape together 5 players. Hopefully it is 6 for all teams by kick-off time

I've got early season enthusiasm so here is the leaderboard - the 4 tippers who picked both results

Next best is 12 for a bundle of people. No team scores yet until I sort out all team squads. Putting out a final call to the missing tippers @justin77 @Pauncefote @No-Quarter @Waynes-World and Buck who are the only ones from last season not to return. There are people to take their places in their teams if they don't either tip or make contact before the end of the round.

@KiwiPie Sent Waynes World an e-mail about Thursday to remind him so maybe he has not been at work this week? Not sure about Buck, we have not crossed paths since just before Christmas so will put out an APB amongst mutual mates next week if no late tips come in this weekend.

Justin77 and Waynes World are in so they score the final 5 games.

Scores for the weekend - some pretty good, some terrible.

Higgins pointed out an error in my spreadsheet - I wasn't throwing away the worst of the 6 entries and some teams had a really bad 6th entry. So I have updated the team scores and the ladder.

Pleasing start to the season but truth is that I’m probably best first up and have probably peaked for the season

The link below is for the whole season - which means that all the tips will accumulate - including those from last season. So just sort column A (Right click on column, Sort Z-A) and the current week's tips will appear.

Nobody picked the result incorrectly for Highlanders v Reds but not many had the margin correct - only Mikedogz, Unite, DK and Bruce Kenyon. Missing tippers from last week are @Hooroo (who's a noted early tipper usually) and @voodoo (or is it @Voodoo-MKII )

As it is an unusual event, worth noting that DK is currently our overall leader.

Good morning. Firstly everything is updated on the Fern including the tipping form for the current weekend. https://www.thesilverfern.com/tipping/ etc. Next week is the start of the TSF Cup, see the Cup page for your matchup. Winners go through plus enough people to get to 32 - so probably a draw is enough or be one of the highest scoring losers.

Last weekend was tough - difficult results to pick and for the less difficult, the margins were tough so mainly low scores all round. Exception was Nevorian who led all scorers with 48 with 6 of 7 results, missing out only by picking the Chiefs to win - as did most people. Mikedogz the only other to get over 40 points. Worst was Waynes World with just 14, picking just the first 2 games correctly.

Blues B are the only team with 2/2, leading the table with a consistent performance and 4 scores over 30, 38 from DK the best and he leads overall by 9 from Plastered Peni. Blues B beat the SunJags with Barbarian the top score of 36 and with a 23 and 22 that had to be counted.

Second are Blues A, managing to pick up the only bonus points for getting 3 or more correct margins than the opposition. TR with 37 the only shining light and with a scores of 20 from Tim and Fiamacho, one of which had to be counted. Luckily for them, the Barbarians were even worse - Rico#1 the only one over 30, Waynes World's low 14 was discarded which meant they had to include Langakali's 19.

3rd are BOP Chiefs with no Hooroo entry but a 41 from Mikedogz and no disasters they had too much for Canes Black who had a few 30+, the best was Paj with 36.

Finally the South Island registered their 1st win, ACT Crusader the best with 38 but their worst was a relatively high 29 and that was too much for Canes Gold who despite having Nevorian's 48, had nothing else over 30 and had to count Crucial's 20.
